Ulcers on legs: we struggle with a problem

Ulcers on the legs are part of a dying skin in the area of a particular site. They can be formed for various reasons, but most cases of leg ulcers are a consequence of venous insufficiency (about 90%). The remaining reasons are much less common. For example, in 5% of cases, the ulcer appears due to arterial insufficiency, even more rarely - due to diabetes or other diseases.

Problems with movement and ability to work with ulcers on the legs do not arise, but their treatment takes a long time. As a rule, this period is about a year, and no specialist can give guarantees for a complete cure. After all, ulcers on the legs have a rather chronic form, that is, there is the possibility of repeated relapse.

If the blood flow in the vessel is blocked by the presence of a blood clot, the skin is not saturated with the necessary substances, and the absence of a stable circulation leads to tissue destruction and the formation of ulcers. The stagnation of blood in blood vessels can lead to the same result. Usually, the patient is swollen with ankles. Later, the walls of the vessels and skin become thinner and become less protected against viruses and infections. As biting insects or leg injuries are as dangerous . If they are not treated properly, then there is a possibility of contamination of tissues and blood, which leads to many dangerous diseases, including the formation of ulcers on the legs.

If a person knows about his predisposition to ulcers on his legs, do not wait for the problem, and immediately take preventive measures. For example, you can regularly perform procedures to improve blood flow. For this, with everyday walking, elastic stockings are used, tightly fitting the skin of the legs. Due to tissue density, the veins are in a compressed state, which does not allow the stagnation of blood. As a preventive measure, the well-known recreation method is perfect: take a horizontal position and raise your legs above the body level.

Also, one should constantly take care of the safety of one's own body. After all, any stroke or injury can lead to undesirable consequences, which is why you need to carefully choose shoes. It should not be flat or high-heeled. The ideal option is a small and steady heel.

And remember that the sooner you contact a doctor, the faster and more efficiently the healing process will go.

Treatment of ulcers on the legs, depending on the degree of development of the disease, can be carried out either medically or by surgical intervention.

In modern medicine for surgical surgery, laser therapy is used. First, the subcutaneous vein is cut out, then the laser is applied in the area under the wound. The laser allows you to burn tissues and get rid of the problem without surgery, excluding the possibility of complications after an ulcer on your legs.

Treatment with this method differs in the rate of wound healing. After all, as you know, the period of full recovery sometimes reaches several years. As the main disadvantages of laser therapy can be considered the high cost of these services and the existence of a long list of contraindications. There is a sufficiently wide range of individuals who are not recommended for laser treatment, for example, those with serious cardiovascular diseases.

Conservative method of getting rid of an ulcer on the legs includes the appointment of modern medications with the subsequent excision of ulcers. It is carried out for one day, and then only recovery procedures are prescribed. Be careful! If the discharge of the wound after the operation does not go away for a long time, moreover it exudes an unpleasant smell, you should immediately contact your doctor about possible complications.
