Mountain clover: description and healing properties

Hardly. Just medicinal plants, which are so rich in our land, in many cases are really able to help in the fight against many formidable ailments, although they often have a lot of contraindications. Most often they are included in the complex therapy.

Today, the "hero" of our article will be a well-known clover mountain (the Bean family). It is a herbaceous perennial plant from the subfamily Motylkov. It has many healing properties, thanks to which it is successfully used by folk healers all over the world.

Clover mountain: description

This plant is from twenty to sixty centimeters high, having a rod, straight, wooden root, which in the upper part can be two or three headed. Straight, single stems of it are short-ascending, rigid, simple, pressed-hairy, because of this they seem silky and grayish.

Stipules are egg-shaped, leathery, pointed, with well-marked veins and hairs. On the lower part of the stem leaves are located on long (up to twenty centimeters) petioles. Above, they are shorter. The length of leaves can be up to six centimeters with a width of about three centimeters, at the ends are often pointed. The lower part of the plate is pubescent, with noticeable veins. Clover mountain, the photo of which you see in the article, has small flowers, which are often collected in inflorescences, but can also be solitary. Calyx bidentate or dentate. Corolla five-petalled, butterfly-shaped: upper petal - sail, lateral - paddles, the two lower ones are united in a boat.

Flowers have ten stamens, nine of which coalesce, and the tenth (upper) remains free. One pestle has a clover mountain. The formula of the flower - W5L1 + 2 + (2) T (9) + 1P1 - is typical for beans, peas and other legumes.

Bloom

Mountain clover blossoms very peculiarly: in each head the tubes are blown upwards, gradually. Flowering lasts no more than thirty days. The flowers open almost to noon and very early to close.

Clover mountain is an excellent honey. During flowering, bees collect nectar from the plant. Seeds will ripen in August. This, like other varieties of clover, double-seeded beans.

Mountain clover (or white hair - one of the popular names of plants), indisputably - one of the most common species in its family. It is found throughout the territory of Belarus, the Caucasus, the Crimea, Western Siberia, Central Europe, quite often it can be seen in the foothills of Central Asia. He prefers open places and dry soils. He likes to master the slopes of beams, hills, ravines. During flowering (from the first days of June to the beginning of August), he transforms the landscape he populates into a solid, fragrant white carpet.

What does it contain?

Mountain clover is a plant with many useful properties. For medicinal purposes, only its stems, leaves and flowers are used. The white head is rich in:

• essential oils;
• Vitamins of group B;
• carotene;
• Trifolin;
• Vitamin C;
• Flavonoids;
• coumarin.

In addition, mountain clover grass is rich in vegetable proteins, which are detected more than 15%, and vegetable fats - a little more than 3%. Traditional medicine has not yet applied clover clover in the manufacture of medicines, but in folk medicine it is very common and quite successfully used.

In folk medicine, the plant is used as an expectorant, diuretic and anti-inflammatory agent. On the basis of clover, infusion or broth is prepared, which is taken with bronchial and pulmonary diseases, various edema, pain sensations in the gastrointestinal tract. With a hernia recommend a strong decoction of herbs to drink on an empty stomach. Inflorescences can be brewed like tea and drink with whites in women, as well as hemorrhoids.
