The illusion of flight. The tallest tower in the world

Height always attracted a man. The ancient Greek hero of the myths Ikar wanted to fly with the help of a constructed from the improvised means of wings. It seems to me that he hardly wanted to get from point A to point B in this way, he wanted to see the world through the eyes of a bird.

Many of us love to watch and take pictures from the porthole of the plane or stare from a high cliff or bridge, and the tallest tower in the world lacks visitors for sure. Crowds and crowds of tourists are ready to stand in the queue for hours only to at least a few minutes to admire the beauty of the landscapes that open below.

By the way, about excursions and interesting pastime ... Do you know where the highest tower in the world is? No?! Then my article is just for you.

Giant Spiers of the World

High are the TV tower, which has crossed 300 meters. Technically, the distance required to transmit a television signal is directly proportional to the height at which the sensors were fixed. That is why these designs, as a rule, build on the previously selected and properly prepared the highest points of the terrain. Some of them even have observation platforms, various kinds of attractions or rotating restaurants.

A few years ago the highest tower of the world was in Warsaw. And although in 1991 the structure collapsed, its 646.38-meter record managed to be broken only in 2008 with the construction of the Burj Khalifa (UAE) skyscraper, which still managed to bypass the Warsaw mast in height.

The tallest tower in the world. Where can I see it?

List of countries that can be proud of the TV tower located on their territory:

      • Of course, Japan. Probably, it would be really amazing if this country was not on the list of record holders. "The Heavenly Tree of Tokyo" is the highest TV tower in the world, the construction of which was completed only recently at the end of February (and, I think, very symbolic, February 29) 2012. Officially, the object was opened on May 22 this year. This 634-meter construction for digital broadcasting is intended.
      • China. 610-meter Guangzhou TV Tower. It took 5 years to build it, and the opening was timed to coincide with the Asian Games (2010). The tower broadcasts radio and television signals, and it is widely used as a local landmark, which is ready to host up to 10,000 tourists daily on its observation deck.
      • Canada. Its 533.3-meter CN Tower is the third tallest tower in the world, although this is not its only feature. The spire of the city of Toronto is also considered to be the only structure of its kind that can withstand gusts of wind at speeds of up to 420 km / h. It is a symbol of the city and is widely visited by tourists (up to 2 million people per year).

      TV Tower Ostankino

Known for the whole world construction, which managed to become a symbol of the Russian capital, unfortunately, was not among the three leaders. However, it takes an honorable fourth place. It is interesting that the project of the tower was invented by the designer NV Nikitin in just one night, and the prototype of it was a lily turned upside down.

To date, you can visit the observation platforms almost any day. Although sometimes due to unfavorable meteorological conditions (heavy wind, snow or rain), excursions have to be canceled. The closed viewing platform is at an altitude of 337 meters, and the open slightly higher - at 340 m.

After a fire that occurred at an altitude of 460 meters in 2000, it took 8 years to fully restore the tower. And now the Ostankino TV tower is ready to host a group of tourists again. But for security reasons, the number of visitors should not exceed 40 people during one excursion.
