Following her example, she also jumped into the well, but ambitious plans and laziness only ruined the daughter of an evil woman, and instead of wealth she brought black tar with her as a trace of an indelible disgrace for life. Thus, the fairy tale "Mrs. Metelitsa" teaches its readers to conscientiously perform the duties, not to be cunning and not to seek benefits in good deeds.

Who wrote a fairy tale about Metelitsa?

The author of the fairy tale "Mrs. Metelitsa" (or rather, the authors, after all it was written by the brothers Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm), tried to convey to every reader the absurdity and incompetence of greedy people. It should be noted that all the fairy tales of the brothers are based on folk folklore tales. They dedicated their lives, many years of painstaking work to collecting stories by stories, editing them, supplementing them. This is how the light was seen by extraordinary works, such as the fairy tale "Mrs. Metelitsa", the stories "Rapunzel", "Hansel and Gretel" and many others.

Brief characteristics of the main characters

The characters in this story are absolutely diverse and very vividly describe the human nature in all its manifestations. The main character is purity and simplicity, sometimes bordering on naivete and childish spontaneity. But no matter how ridiculous these qualities may appear in a person (especially in our cruel times), they helped her to get out of the difficult situation with dignity and honor.

The second positive hero of the fairy tale was Ms. Metelitsa herself. Seeing the house and its inhabitant, the girl was immediately confused and frightened, because the lady of winter and blizzard seemed terrible and angry to her. In this there is nothing surprising, because people tend to ascribe negative features to the elements of nature (and the more ungenerous the element, the more terrible it is in the person's view). However, in practice, Metelitsa was just and merciful. She sheltered her girlfriend and did not contradict her will, when she decided to return to her family.

Stepmother and her own daughter - at the same time the characters are similar and distant. And if the mother turned into a hard-hearted and soulless woman in many ways for the sake of her daughter, the second is the lowest person in all its manifestations: lazy, vain, selfish and selfish. It is these traits that were always considered vices in society, and the fairy tale "Mrs. Metelitsa" conveyed them most accurately. A vivid example of hypocrisy was the moment when a kind daughter returned from the Snowstorm in gold, and her stepmother and sister, who until recently had not tolerated her spirit, disintegrated in courtesies and manifestations of supposed kindness.

What makes the Brothers Grimm different from other authors?

In general, the tale of Grimm "Mrs. Metelitsa" is very characteristic of the authors. In their work they were guided by the maximum realism and plausibility in relation to the primary sources, namely folktales. For the Middle Ages, cruelty and punishment on the verge of torture for unlawful acts were the hallmarks of society. Executions, stigma of stigma, expulsion from cities and villages for misconduct before the community were the norm of that time. Modern humane people sometimes find it difficult to imagine the realities of the past centuries.

Such norms could not appear in folk tales, and sometimes fairy tales did not become a good farewell for the child, but rather a horrible and terrible story that really frightened. In publishing their works, the Grimm brothers tried to preserve as much of their folklore integrity, cutting down only the most unpleasant moments, in which there were scenes of real violence, incest, cruelty to both humans and animals. Often this was insisted on by the printing press, motivating their wishes by the fact that fairy tales are nevertheless intended for children.

All fairy tales try to present a life lesson, help to recognize good and evil. But different ideas about the framework of what is allowed, differences in the mentality of each individual country lead to the fact that the translation of a fairy tale from the original language does not always correspond to the original content. Many authors, at their own discretion, translate the names, names of places of events and often soften some details of the plot for easier perception.

"Mrs. Metelitsa": screen versions

The plot of the fairy tale "Mrs. Metelitsa" is popular with representatives of art. To the tale created a lot of illustrations, which completely differently interpret the appearance of the main characters. Unfortunately, a modern quality cartoon based on this particular story was not created. The newest is the adaptation of a Czech director, dating back to 1985. Also there is a Soviet cartoon film, shot even earlier, in 1971. At the same time, the consistency of the fairy tale, the desire of children and their parents to see their favorite characters live pushes to put on its basis plays in theaters and create puppet shows.
