The drug "Atrovent" (for inhalations) has directly bronchodilating effect. The drug, in addition, has a preventive effect, reducing the secretion of bronchial glands and preventing bronchospasm.

Atronvent recommends that the appointment be prescribed for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (including emphysema , obstructive bronchitis of the chronic course), as well as for moderate to mild bronchial asthma.

Contraindicated drug with hypersensitivity to the components, as well as intolerance to atropine and its derivatives.

Medication Atrovent recommends using with caution in hyperplasia of the prostate, obstruction in the urinary tract, angle-closure glaucoma, children under six years old, as well as during lactation and pregnancy.

The drug "Atrovent" can also cause a delay in urine, a disorder of accommodation, palpitation, atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, increased heart rate. The dosage regimen for each patient should be set individually. A specialist should observe the course of therapy.

As a supporting treatment for adults (including the elderly) and patients over the age of twelve, two milliliters are recommended (forty drops - 500 μg), three or four times a day. The maximum amount of the drug per day is 8 ml (2 mg).

Children from six to twelve years of age, the Atrovent medication recommends one milliliter (20 drops - 250 micrograms) per day, three or four times a day. Patients under 6 years of age are shown by 0.4-1 ml (from eight to twenty drops - 100-250 μg), a day three to four times. Limit dosage per day - four milliliters (1 mg).

In the treatment of acute bronchospasm, patients older than twelve years (including the elderly) are recommended to 2 ml (forty drops - 500 μg). To stabilize the patient's condition, repeated appointments are allowed. The attending physician sets the intervals between the administration.

It is allowed to simultaneously take beta2-adrenomimetics.

The recommended amount of the drug "Atrovent" before use is diluted with physiological saline to a volume of three to four milliliters, poured into a nebulizer and inhaled.

Dilute the drug every time before the procedure. The remaining solution after inhalation must be poured.

Depending on the type of nebulizer and the procedure used, the dosage may vary.

The medicine "Atrovent" is allowed to be used with different nebulizers. If a centralized oxygen system is used, the flow rate is recommended to be set at 6-8 l / min.

In clinical practice, no specific manifestations of an overdose have been identified. Given the local method of application and the breadth of therapeutic effectiveness of the drug "Atrovent", the development of some serious side effects is unlikely. There may be minor systemic manifestations (including an increase in heart rate, dry mouth).
