The brightest sights of Plyos

In Plyos, as in every other city, there are attractions. Almost the whole city is considered a museum of architecture, nature and history, in addition, in its vicinity there are also many interesting places. There are also private museums, which give tourists unusual opportunities.

Attractions of Plyos: m Uzey «Russian House»

This museum will show visitors not only objects of rural Russian life, it will also give everyone the opportunity to feel the charms of life of an ordinary medieval artisan. The peculiarity of the museum is that you can not only look at all the exhibits, but also touch them with your own hands, while some can even be put into action. In this place you will feel like a potter or a jeweler. Mistresses on a hand-made primitive mill can try to make flour from flour.

"The Stone of Love" and "The Tree of Love" - the amazing attractions of Plyos

Another favorite place for tourists is the famous "Tree of Love". Local residents thus nicknamed 2 pine trees, merged incomprehensibly with each other. The legend says: in order to fulfill the wish, it is necessary to tie a ribbon to the "Tree of Love". Because of this, it is more like a traditional Christmas tree, because everything is covered with colorful ribbons.

Considering further the sights of Plyos, one can single out the "Stone of Love". This name he received due to his strange form. According to the legend, about a century ago a merchant lived in a house next to which a stone was located. In old age, he took as wife a very young girl. Of course, various rumors about this unequal marriage immediately crept through the city , and they simply mocked the old man, no matter what. Because of this, the merchant masters ordered a phallic stone symbol, placing it near the house.

Attractions of Plyos: natural monuments

Under Plyos, in the village of Odilevo, there is a small spring that feeds on groundwater. It is located near the coast of Chernavka in a ravine. This spring in the last century was filled, and not so long ago, the locals again cleared it. Today it is decorated with a log house in the shape of a well. Near it there is an icon of Our Lady of Kazan on a wooden cross. From this source, water is considered curative and holy, therefore, pilgrims often visit here often.

Going to Plyos, whose sights are not limited only to archaeological and architectural monuments, in its vicinity you can see a huge number of different protected areas, also of historical significance. So, the artist Levitan created several works on the topic of a birch grove, one of which was appropriately named.

There is also a cedar grove on the right bank of the Volga. It was artificially created in the century before the efforts of the gardener F. Drozdov. In the fenced territory of the cedar grove there are several springs. Also you can see the oak grove by visiting Plyos. Sightseeing (photo of some of them are presented above) can be listed for a very long time.

Despite its small population and rather modest size, the city is one of the main centers of the Golden Ring of our country. In this place there are no known in the whole world churches, monuments or estates - the nature of this protected area compensates for their lack. There are no large enterprises that have a harmful effect on the environment, therefore, the city will remain for a long time one of the reserved Russian corners.
