Suprotivnaya listposition: features of the structure and examples of plants

The leaves on the shoot are not at all chaotic. Their attachment to the axis of the aerial part of the plant occurs only in certain places, which are called nodes, has its own regularities. In this article, we will consider what is the opposite list.

Types of leaflets

A leaf arrangement, or phyllotaxis, refers to a certain order of leaf attachment to the stem. This feature is an important systematic feature. There are three main types: the next (spiral), whorled (ringed) and opposite sheet.

In the first case, only one sheet leaves the node. Relatively to each other they are arranged in a spiral. Examples of such plants are pear, dog rose, wheat and peach. In a whorled type, more than two leaves leave the node. Such a leaf arrangement can be seen in pine, crow's eye, cypress, elodea.

Features of the opposite layout

The opposite type is characterized by the presence of two leaves in the node. At the same time they are located opposite each other. As a result, a unique mosaic is created, which allows maximum use of sunlight. The opposite leaf list is considered a special case of whorled. Two plates are located in one node in such a way that their medians are in a single vertical plane.

Which plants are opposite leaflets?

Naturally, the order of the arrangement of the leaves on the stem is not the only feature determining the systematic position of the plant. But it is always used when describing species. Thus, the opposite leaf list is typical for representatives of the families of the honeysuckle, gubotaceous and clove.

The first of them are viburnum, elderberry, honeysuckle, musk grass, three-spring, snow leopard, linenea, and dierville. The composition of the family Gubotsvetnye, or Nastotkatkovye includes mint, basil, sage, lemon balm, thyme, oregano, savory. Most of them are herbaceous plants. The name Gubotsvetnye this family received because of the appearance of the flowers. They look like an open mouth.

Herbaceous is also the majority of representatives of the Clove family. They are used as fodder and ornamental crops, and some have found application in medicine. It is a tar, a soap, a dawn, a tonic, and a doze.

Thus, in the case of a contraposition, two plates are located at the nodes opposite each other. This feature of the structure is characteristic of clove, honeysuckle and acacia plants.
