Mythology. Moloch: who is this?
In the holy book of Christians, various deities are mentioned in places. And many of them constantly needed human victims, regularly brought by pagans. Among such ancient idols was Moloch, revered by the Carthaginians, Phoenicians and Palestinians.
He was considered the chief in the pantheon of deities, which mythology tells about. Moloch, in fact, was not inferior in importance to other of its "colleagues", which were Milk (among the Ammonites) and Melkart (in Tire) from the peoples belonging to the West Semitic group. It can be assumed that the powerful demon Baal (Baal) was embodied in it in a supernatural way.
The Origin of Moloch and Its Essence
To understand the essence of this deity, it makes sense to conduct a small study of his name. If we turn to the ancient translation of the books of Judaic Scripture, it is found that Moloch is a derivative of the Jewish version of the Molekh or Melekh. The latter was used in the meaning of "king". The name of the god - Milk - by the way, has the same translation. This is very similar to the history of the name of Baal, which is part of the divine name of the Ishbaal of Israel. At the same time, it is consonant with the term "boshet", which translates as "shame" or "abomination."
Some learned men put forward a hypothesis that identifies Moloch with Yahweh (Jehovah). They refer to the words of the prophet Jeremiah, who uttered them in the name of the god Yahweh. It is a question of the fact that in the "valley of the sons of Hinnom" elevations were built for the burning of boys and girls. Horror and fear led many people to Moloch. Mythology tells us that this god encouraged sacrifices.
Первенцы as a gift
Moloch had one peculiarity - a kind of love for young children. As a rule, the first-borns appeared in the role of victims, during a terrible ritual they were thrown into the fire. The torments of consuming babies gave pleasure to Moloch, and mother's tears satisfied God's thirst. No wonder he was awarded the title of "ruler of the country tears."
Mythology tells us about many creatures. Moloch is a fierce and insatiable god, eager to see the suffering of women who were forced to give him their children.
Attempts to ban the sacrifice of Molech
In the Old Testament, the practice of sacrifice among the Semitic peoples, including Jews, is mentioned. Even the wise King Solomon sinned with idolatry, on the slope of his years he built Milkam the altar. To appease Moloch, the heights of Tophet, located in the Valley of Hinnom, were later used to burn the babies. Such rulers of the Jews, like Ahaz and Manasseh, were no exception, also sacrificed their heirs.
The law of Moses, regulating the behavior of the Jews, abolished the relic of the pagan past. Henceforth, anyone who tried to perform the ritual sacrifice of babies could pay with their lives. The places where the sacrifice was performed (the altar of Tophet) were destroyed by order of Josiah, the king of the Jews. What is Moloch, knew everyone who lived in those times. Aloud they did not utter the name of this devil and god in one person.
The prohibitions, from whom they came, could not completely eradicate the desire of the Jews to read Moloch. The chosen people did not hurry to part with the pagan tradition.
Bad habits are uprooted
The first to try to fight this phenomenon was the Assyrians, and then the Babylonians. The period of conquest by them of the Palestinian and Phoenician lands falls on 8-6 centuries BC. E. The captivity of the Jews by Babylon in 586 BC. E. Had a positive effect in the struggle against the passion of the burnt offering of children. Conducted by the king Yosiah (Yoshiyahu), the transformation in the religious sphere also had to end the ritual of child sacrifice. This is mentioned by mythology that has survived to our times. Moloch ceased to be an authority, he was challenged by strangers who conquered the land.
The Romans who conquered Carthage in the second century AD, accustomed the local population to the idea that worshiping Moloch is a bad habit.
How is the aura cleansed with the help of Moloch fire?
Due to the bloodthirsty inclinations of Moloch, it is unlikely that he can be suspected of kindness. According to the laws of the universe, like Satan, dark forces were embodied in him, he simultaneously appeared in the hypostasis of both God and the devil. Moloch was unjustifiably cruel. Mythology, which preserved terrible legends and images, proves this.
The ritual usually occurred in December. If you follow the conclusions of the magicians, within a year the soul and the aura accumulated the mud of cosmic light. So, it was with the help of fire that there was a magic cleansing, getting rid of the energy of the mythical artisan, the creator of the world, who is known as the Demiurge. Different beings are filled with mythology. Moloch is the embodiment of human fears. The people were ready to sacrifice their children for the sake of a ghostly good.
At first the magician lit an altar candle. The key components of the ritual were the sorcerer's meditation and the outline of a red shining pentagram with a dagger. Constantly vibrating and screaming the name of Moloch, the magician absorbs the fireball inside him . In this way he calls out to the cleansing fire. The ritual ends with the praise of the "child killer". Moloch is a deity who has managed to master the minds of people, forcing them to do rash acts.
