Summary of "Tartuffe". Reflection of Moliere's genius
Moliere's plot intrigue
The attempt to play the work in the theater was a success only five years later. This article is its summary. "Tartuffe" has a rather prosaic plot: the resolution of the circumstances that prevent the wedding of Marianne, the daughter of the owner of the house (Orgon), and her beloved Valera. (Brother Marianna Damis, in turn, is in love with Valera's sister). The whole intrigue is "twisted" around the main character - Tartuffe, who is staying in the house. Outwardly it is a young, educated, pious man, prone to high deeds. In reality, having a criminal past, Tartuffe has a whole bouquet of "virtues": chronic mendacity, a rare ability to weave a continuous chain of frauds. But the highlight of the swindler's image is professional mimicry - imitation of the preaching of a clergyman. Molière brilliantly presented the spectators with this "rattling cocktail". The full idea of the comedy can only be given by its theatrical production, for a bad mirror for the irony of the great Frenchman is an emotionless short. "Tartuffe" Moliere has more than 350 years headed the hits of theatrical seasons.
Moliere shows the deceiver, deliberately not resorting to the tricky lace of lies. He is so confident in the reliable impact of his sanctimonious pseudo-morality on the simpletons, which often acts simply "in a clumsy manner."
Characters of the comedy
The summary of "Tartuffe" tells not only about scoundrels and dupes. Wife Oregon, Elmira Dorin - quite a sober lady, distinguished by calm disposition and self-control. At the same time, she is flirtatious and secular. Tartuffe is dragging her out frankly, at the convenient opportunity of offering a pretty housewife at home to make love to him. She refuses, threatening to extradite a hypocrite, and then tries to outplay the swindler by offering him his silence in exchange for his refusal to marry Marianna.
The mother's intention unintentionally destroys the young and hot son Damis, overhearing and transferring his contents to his father - Oregon. Naive! Tartuffe does not need to convince the master of the house, the simpleton, in the sublimity of his feelings and actions. He, being fooled, drives out his son in anger, promising all the property owed him to the fraudster.
However, despite all the accompanying antipathy and opposition, Tartuffe's idea moves "as if on notes." It's about the wedding. Even if something is upset - a duped Oregon has copied all his possessions to him. In addition, he has in his hands is compromising material - handed to him on his own will by the intimate owner of the house, a secret chest with sensitive letters for him. In addition, he was bribed by the judicial officer Loyal (here Moliere's irony is clear: the "loyal" is translated from French as "justice").
Culmination
The summary of "Tartuffe" approaches its climax. In the circumstances, all-in bank has to go to Elmira. She convinces a fooled wife to hide under the table during her conversation with Tartuffe. He is convinced of the sanctity and decency of the latter, but agrees with his wife.
But according to the documents, the house is already owned by Tartuffe. To Mr. Oregon is the bailiff Loyal with the order containing the demand - to release the dwelling until tomorrow. However, it seemed to the scoundrel that the rascal was not enough, wanting to ruin the owner of the house, he sends a secret casket to the king with letters indicating assistance to the rebel brother. The monarch acts wisely, first determining the identity of the person who submitted the denunciation. The amazed Tartuffe, gloating along with the royal officer to enjoy the arrest of Oregon, arrested himself.
Conclusion
So the traditional happy end, and even the glorification of the King's wisdom, is the comedy of Moliere "Tartuffe", which was called by our classic Alexander Pushkin genius. Like Shakespeare, the power of a writer's talent was combined in this person with devotion and service to the Theater. Contemporaries, however, believed that the talent of Moliere blossomed because he had a gift - to see in every person "something extraordinary."
