Spice-cake - a treat for any holiday!

Gingerbread is your favorite treat. It is universal and relevant at any holiday - from birthdays to the New Year. Gingerbread appeared in the IX century. Their origin is associated with the invention of bread, so it is not surprising that at first this dessert was called "honey bread".

In delight with the gingerbread will be both children and adults. Particular pleasure they will give, if you cook them yourself. Baking dessert can be turned into a real creativity, from which all the people taking part in it will enjoy. Moreover, it is made of any shape. For example, it can be a carrot-cock.

Ingredients for gingerbread cookies

When baking delicacies can not do without:

  • Flour (about 500 grams);
  • 150 grams of sugar;
  • One egg;
  • 1 tbsp. L. Cocoa powder;
  • 200 grams of butter (if desired, can be replaced with margarine);
  • Ginger root (1 tsp ground dry + 1 tsp grated on a small grater);
  • 2 tsp. Mayonnaise;
  • 1 gram of vanillin;
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon ground;
  • Cloves and black pepper (to taste).

To prepare the glaze, you will need:

  • One protein;
  • 1 tsp. Lemon juice;
  • 150 grams of powdered sugar;
  • 1 tsp. Food color (the dye is used in any color: red, yellow, green and not only, it all depends on personal preferences).

Cooking gingerbread with ginger

In order to get a gingerbread cake, it will take no more than two hours.

  • Stage 1. First we take the oil (it must first be pulled out of the refrigerator to make it soft), put it into a prepared bowl. Add to the slightly softened butter egg, sugar, mayonnaise, grated grated ginger and cocoa. Now mix well.
  • Stage 2. Add to the resulting mixture ground ginger, cloves, vanillin, cinnamon and black ground pepper. All again we carefully mix. The last one is the flour. The dough should be elastic and pleasant to the touch, so it should be kneaded until it becomes like plasticine.
  • Step 3. Put the dough in the refrigerator for at least half an hour. After the time has elapsed, we take it out and roll out a layer (5-6 mm wide).

  • Step 4. With the help of a mold or a stencil, you will get a future carrot-cake. We lay out the figures on a baking sheet, previously laid with baking paper. We send the dessert to the oven (heated up to 180 gadusov) for about 15 minutes. But do not forget to follow the males.

Make the glaze

In order to get the carrot in the form of a cock, we begin to prepare the glaze. Sift the powdered sugar and whisk the protein. Pour powder into the squirrels carefully, in small portions. At the end of whipping, add the lemon juice. It can be replaced with white wine.

Now we divide the resulting glaze into several parts and color them with multi-colored food colorings, necessary for decoration. With them, the gingerbread cake will turn out to be real.

Using the glaze, you can make eye shadows for the males, color them feathers and scallops. This is done by a thin nozzle on the baking bag. After the decoration, allow the glaze to cool. Now you can wrap gingerbread in beautiful packages and hang on a Christmas tree or present to someone as a gift. Of course, once there are also allowed.
