Sokolnicheskaya metro line. Sokolnicheskaya line: stations

Sokolnicheskaya metro line crosses almost all the other branches, and therefore is one of the most important urban arteries. It is at its stations that almost all the significant objects of Moscow are located - the main university, the Red Square, the Gorky Park , etc. What does it represent today, and what will happen to it next?

History of construction

It was the Sokolnicheskaya Line that became the so-called test of the pen, when in 1931 it was decided that a new type of transport should appear in Moscow - the underground. Soon, at the Rusakovskaya street, a mine was laid, and the first train drove through the site to the station "Park Kultury" as early as 1935 - construction was going on at a rapid pace. The length of the road at that time was 11.6 kilometers, and the name until 1990 was the "Kirov-Frunzenskaya line."

In the second half of the 1950s the construction was continued, in 1959 the Leninskie Gory station was opened, located on the Luzhnetsky bridge across the Moscow River. By 1963, the site was built up to the station, most recently the former terminal - "Southwest". At the same time, the "Preobrazhenskaya Ploshchad" was opened , covering the eastern districts of Moscow.

Later, in the 1980s, "Cherkizovskaya" and "Podbelsky Street" were built, a new depot was put into operation, which significantly unloaded the whole branch. In this form, the Sokolnicheskaya line existed almost to this day - at the end of 2014 the station "Troparevo" was opened, which became a new terminal in the south-western chord.

Current state

At the moment the Sokolniki metro line numbers 20 stations. Its total length is more than 28 kilometers. Two more stations are under construction, their opening is planned in 2016. In mid-2014, "Street Podbelsky" was renamed the "Boulevard Rokossovskogo", which at the end of 2015 used to not all, but because the old name is also mentioned on the maps.

The average travel time for the entire branch is 40 minutes, daily it takes about a million passengers. With Sokolnicheskoy you can directly switch to 8 other lines, so it is extremely convenient for many Muscovites. In the future, it is planned to make an intersection with the Kalinin branch in the Kropotkinskaya area.

"Komsomolskaya"

In general, it is obvious that the first branch was originally built as a transport artery. Stations of the Sokolnicheskaya metro line are not distinguished by the beauty and elegance of the Moscow subway, famous throughout the world. Curious for tourists can be called unless "Komsomolskaya", and even then, the neighboring station, located on the Ring line, is much more attractive externally.

Nevertheless, it is "Komsomolskaya" is a very important transport hub, because it is immediately located 3 railway stations, taking residents of the Moscow region every morning.

"Sparrow Hills"

This unique station was opened in the beginning of 1959, but already in 1983 it needed a reconstruction because of a number of mistakes made during the construction of the Luzhnetsk bridge on which it is located. In the 1960s, the design began to degrade gradually due to dynamic loads and the desire to reduce the cost of construction. Almost 20 years the station was empty. The movement was conducted on temporary bridges. The active phase of reconstruction was already in the 2000s, and at the end of 2002, the station "Vorobyovy Gory" again opened its doors to passengers, being actually rebuilt anew.

The station is beautiful in its own way - the designers decided to take advantage of the unique location and made the walls transparent, so that directly from the cars you can see the Moscow River, the Luzhniki stadium and the park. In addition, along the tracks, beyond the actual line, there are pedestrian crossings, and one can observe the movement of the trains while standing on the bridge.

sights

A lot of kilometers under the ground overcomes the Sokolnicheskaya line. The stations that lie on it are built under many important metropolitan objects. For example, over the "Cherkizovsky", located quite uncomfortable, is the stadium "Locomotive", next to the "Sokolniki" - the same-name park. As already mentioned, Komsomolskaya with an area of three stations forms an important transport hub, the central store Detsky Mir and a number of important state institutions are located above the Lubyanka. "Okhotny Ryad" is located in close proximity to the Kremlin and Red Square - the heart of the capital. The Lenin Library is located above this station.

Near the "Kropotkinskaya" stands the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and nearby stands the Pushkin Museum, and towards the next station stretches the "golden mile" - Ostozhenka. Near the "Park of Culture" is one of the most popular recreational areas in Moscow. Finally, near the "University" is the main university of the country - Moscow State University. Of course, next to the stations of the Sokolnicheskaya Line there are still a lot of interesting and important objects, but it is not possible to list them all.

Closing stations

From time to time, the metro authorities limit or completely stop traffic in some areas. Thus, the partial closure of the Sokolnicheskaya line on the section from Komsomolskaya to Park Kultury took place on Saturday, October 10, 2015, and lasted about 24 hours. At this time, workers checked and repaired various systems to ensure the rest of the time the uninterrupted operation of the subway. All the other stations worked as usual.

In addition, according to a special schedule, one of the vestibules of the station "Yugo-Zapadnaya" will be closed for repairs from 14 to 15 and from 28 to 29 November. It is expected that during 2016, a short-term closure of the Sokolnicheskaya metro station may be made in connection with the commissioning of new stations.

Development prospects

Already in 2016 Sokolnicheskaya branch is expected to extend to 2 new stations located in the south-west of the capital. In terms of the development of the subway until 2020, there is further extension of the section for 2 more distances. In general, the further development of the branch is connected with the construction of a third interchange loop, which will have to involve Cherkizovskaya and Vernadsky Prospect in active use.

After 2020, it is possible that the development will go towards joining the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line, so that the reserve left during the construction of the distillation from the Preobrazhenskaya Square can be useful to build a full-fledged tunnel to Shchelkovskaya and further to Golyanovo and The village of Vostochny. This will allow some to unload the final station of the "blue" branch, where in the morning many people are striving, creating traffic jams on the departures from the area. Thus, the Sokolnicheskaya Line has enough prospects and still remains one of the main transport arteries of the capital.
