Related films on "Divergent". Plot, description

"Divergent" - a book trilogy, which became a bestseller. Therefore it is not surprising that the adaptation of the novels did not keep you waiting. At the moment, in the form of films, there are already two parts, and the third one is preparing for the release - "Elligent". But the "divergent" is not the only trilogy, exciting the new generation. Along with it, the "Hunger Games" and "Running in the Labyrinth" are also immediately recalled - similar films for "Divergent". Why do trilogies merge into yet another trio? Well, there are several reasons for this.

Anti-Utopia

The first thing that comes to mind is how the films are combined, similar to the "Divergent" (the list, by the way, is not so great, but the furore that they produced, more than) is that both the Hunger Games and Running In the labyrinth, "and" Divergent "itself belong to the genre of anti-utopia. The plot is similar: in the near future after the catastrophe on Earth a completely different device was established, different from the current one. The causes of the catastrophe, however, are different.

"Divergent"

Related movies on the plot still have a difference. Starting from the very beginning. In "Divergent" is represented the structure of society, divided into factions. There are five in total: "Erudition", "Fearlessness", "Friendliness", "Sincerity", "Renunciation". In the course of the book, it turns out that there are also afraktsionery - dregs of society, not approached by any of the groups.

"The Hunger Games"

So, let's look at films that are similar to "Divergent". The list is opened by "Hunger Games". Twelve districts come to the fore (where was the division already?) And the capital - the Capitol. All this is combined into a well-coordinated structure - the state of Panem.

"Running in a maze"

The greatest difference is with him. The original structure does not immediately appear, because the work begins with the fact that the young man wakes up in a strange elevator, not remembering who he is, only his name in his head. The elevator brings him to a strange place where six dozen of the same guys like him built a small model of a functioning society, because it's impossible to get out of the place they were in - they are surrounded by a dangerous and confused labyrinth.

main characters

"Running in a maze" and "Hunger Games" - similar films on "Divergent" and the concept of the main characters. Consider in order.

Beatrice "Tris" Prior (Pryor)

Tris is the main character of "Divergent". She was given the same status. The spectators who watched this film know that Miss Prior did not want to be a heroine, did not want to be different from everyone else. But she had to do it in order to protect loved ones and loved ones.

Katniss Everdeen

Katniss is the main character in the "Hunger Games". And she also rushed into this game to protect her younger sister. But it turned into more, and imperceptibly for herself, Miss Everdeen became a joke-mockingbird - a symbol of the revolution against the Capitol and President Snow.

Thomas

The surname of this protagonist does not exist. As already mentioned, he remembers, like all the other young men in this work, only his own name. But joining the Glade staff (as the boys call each other's place to which someone sent them) and getting close to him, Thomas realizes that he must find a way out of the labyrinth - for the sake of his family and friends, one way or another.

Building a storyline

The trilogy is united by the unity of plotting the storyline. First, the composition: each of the works is a trilogy. Secondly, the main character: in the foreground is a teenager. Third, the development of events: in the first book acquaintance with the structure of society, and the other two - its destruction in the name of some good purpose. So, for example, "Divergent": the first film devoted to Tris, its finding among the "Fearless", the construction of friendly and love relationships. In the first part, one feels that something is coming and something serious, but until the end it is unclear what exactly. The second film is dedicated to the battles, investigation, chaos and dynamics of events: viewers accurately see how the heroine changes in both metaphorical and literal sense.

The meaning of the films "Hunger Games", "Running in the Labyrinth", "Divergent"

Related films on the plot of the meaning, perhaps, are also somewhat similar. At least initially this impression is created. But the farther into the forest, the angrier wolves, and climbing into the jungle of written pages, you begin on each of them to find their own morals.

If we consider the etymology of the word "divergent" itself, then it turns out that the product is reduced to one "chosen". However, this is fundamentally wrong. "Selectivity" in this case is more like a target on the back.

Entertainment, instructive stories or a successful commercial project?

Veronica Roth, Susan Collins, James Dashner - these are the names of those who gave the world these three wonderful trilogies. And, probably, they broke a big jackpot on them. Was it so conceived?

No one argues that with the writing of these literary works of Veronica, Susan and James hit the mark. The main characters are young people, the ideal hit, the focus on the audience, which is ready to pay money for entertainment. The genre is anti-utopia - at a time when the old system is about to collapse, it's the most. People feel the impending storm, and they want to look at the screens for options of how this can be. And, of course, the subject of heroism is always a favorite, always topical. Project your personality on the character, be proud of his actions and to some extent be proud because of this - fantastic books and films always make a bet on this.

Features

Like the "Hunger Games" and "Running in the Labyrinth" - similar films on "Divergent", and he himself, distinguished themselves by one common feature: their authors tried to leave the main characters heroic and at the same time give them very realistic features.

Tris goes to the end, her courage can not be doubted. According to the law of the genre, it must be alive. But will it be so?

Katniss does everything in its power, she inspires people to revolution, but will she remain the same after the victory?

Thomas is a hero who saves everyone. But are they all? He saves his loved ones and relatives, and the whole world burns in flames behind their backs, the world from which they run away.

Each of the trilogy has a curtain, which in the end opens, is not this the curtain is their morality? Similar films on "Divergent" give food for thought.
