Semi-human-semi-kosel in the mythology of different peoples

Legends and legends of many peoples of the world are important topics in the study of folk art. They talk about the heroic history of peoples, contain a number of interesting facts around which there is much debate. Artists, sculptors and architects perpetuate heroes in stone and on canvas, and writers, poets and playwrights beat stories in their works.

Mythical creatures, fairy animals and monsters

Ancient man was in awe of the might of the forces of nature. These forces embodied different images of monsters and beasts that were the product of man's imagination.

As a rule, such creatures combined parts of the human body and animal. Tails of fish and snakes, wings and beaks of birds, hoofs, tails and horns of domestic animals emphasized the disgust of monsters. Most of them were residents of the seabed, marsh mud, dense forests. These habitats personified their dark essence.

But not all monsters are terrible, among them there are quite beautiful inhabitants of fantastic worlds. Basically it's half-people, but sometimes there are absolutely fantastic creatures, unlike any beast or human.

Semihuman-semi-knot from antiquity

The greatest number of such semi-people is characteristic of Greek mythology. They were endowed with superpowers and attributed to them different insidiousness.

Pan is a kind forest god

Initially, the god Pan was one of the most ancient Greek gods. Lord of forests, shepherds and defender of pastoralists. Despite the fact that Pana was honored in Argos and Arcadia, where livestock breeding was actively developed, he was not included in the pantheon of the Olympic gods. Over time, he becomes just a patron of wildlife.

His father was a powerful Zeus, and his mother was a nymph Driop, who fled when she saw her son of unusual appearance. Semi-semi-human half-man was born with goats 'hoofs and beard, and the Olympic gods were amazed and laughed at the sight of Zeus' son on Olympus.

But the god Pan is good. Under the sound of his flute, the herds are peacefully grazing and the nymphs dance happily. But also about him goes a lot of rumors. Tired after dancing, it is better not to wake him, because Pan is hot-tempered and can scare a person or send him a strong sleep. Greek shepherds and cattlemen honored Pan and coaxed him with gifts in the form of wine and meat.

Satire

The satyr is externally a semi-human semi-human. The essence of athletic build with goat legs, hoofs, tail and horns. In the mythology of Greece, he embodies the forest lord of fertility.

To whom is a semi-human half-horse like? Pictures of famous artists depict satyrs surrounded by forests playing on pipes. They were considered the embodiment of male power. They drink, pursue the forest nymphs and seduce them.

The semi-human half-horse is endowed with the power of wild animals, and human morals and rules are alien to him. They could be seen often surrounded by Dionysus, the god of winemaking and fun.

In legends of other nations, there is also a semi-human semi-kosel. What is it called and what does the person personify?

Ochokochi

In Georgian folktales there is a story about a hunter who met at night in the forest with a humanoid being. It is called Ochokochi. This evil deity, the worst enemy of hunters and gatherers.

Ochokochi - a huge evil monster, covered with thick red hair. A sharp hump is sticking out of his chest, in the form of an ax, by which he cuts through the opponents. Ochokochi was immortal, and no hunter could kill him. In some Georgian families, the disobedient children are still frightened by this character.

Krampus

This is a semi-human half-horse in Western European mythology. He is a Christmas hero and antipode of Santa Claus, a frequent visitor to winter holidays, which punishes disobedient children. This creature often scares children even today.

Legends of krumpus are associated with the onset of cold weather and the reduction of daylight hours. More often than not, stories about these vicious and insidious creatures can be heard in Germany, Austria and Hungary. The image of Krampus, despite the formidable and frightening appearance, is associated with the Christmas holidays.

In Western Europe, this deity even came up with a whole holiday - "Krampusin". This cheerful and kind action sets people up for a good festive mood. People dressed in skins of krimpus with horns, appear on the streets. They are hung with all sorts of loud attributes - bells and gloves, create noise, play with children and adults.

The semi-human semi-kosel in mythology is the devil?

In the Christian religion, the image of a creature with features of a goat is considered the personification of the devil and is credited with the most negative qualities. During the Middle Ages, the image of the satyr was transformed into an image of the devil. Artists of antiquity depicted these creatures as musicians, collecting grapes and making wine.

The image of the half-man-half-bugle has smoothly migrated to modern fairy tales and legends. And it is connected not only with evil and negative, but also with fertility and merriment.
