Reconstruction of the Yaroslavl highway in the region (2014): the scheme and terms

One of the large-scale road construction projects in Moscow (the reconstruction of the Yaroslavl highway in the region and within Moscow) is completed. In the course of the modernization, the number of lanes was increased, lateral driveways were arranged to differentiate the local traffic flow from the transit road, stopping public transport, and several transit trestles were built. Reconstruction of the Yaroslavl highway in the area (2014), the modernization scheme of which is shown below, has allowed to unload the traffic flow and create comfortable conditions for the movement of public transport.

Reasons for reconstruction

Before the modernization began in the region, the main forming highway of the Yaroslavl district passed about fifty to sixty thousand cars a day. And this despite the fact that in 700 kilometers from the Moscow ring road the route narrowed to three lanes, and at the twenty-eighth kilometer, in Tarasovka - to two. The level of congestion, according to the data of the Yandex.Probki service, rarely sank below seven points in the summer period (even at night).

The government intended to solve the problem of slugging more thoroughly. Reconstruction of the Yaroslavl highway in the area of 2014 (the scheme provided for the modernization of several sections) made it possible to effectively relieve the traffic flow. The governor of the Moscow region said that after the completion of the work, the carrying capacity of the Yaroslavl highway will be about two hundred thousand cars per day, that is, it will increase fourfold.

In addition, on some sections of the route there were no noise screens and braking bands. Yaroslavka was poorly adapted to the movement of public transport, which, moving in the mainstream of cars, made it difficult for other road users to maneuver and interfere. The completion of the reconstruction of the Yaroslavl highway led one of the main Moscow highways to the proper view.

Purpose of modernization

The complex of town-planning policy and the construction of the city of Moscow, the purpose of the Yaroslavl highway reconstruction project is to reduce the transport load on the highway and create conditions that are comfortable for the movement of public transport. Yaroslavl highway should become more modern and convenient for drivers and pedestrians.

Terms of modernization

The plans for the next modernization of the highway became known as early as 2014. At that time, the reconstruction of the Yaroslavl Highway (2014) had already been carried out at some sites. The scheme presented to the public provided for the extension of the route and the construction of facilities, including outside the Moscow Ring Road.

When will the reconstruction of Yaroslavl highway end ? The modernization of the road section in Moscow (from MKAD to the Garden Ring) was completed in 2013. Near Moscow sites of the Yaroslavl highway were put into operation in October-November 2015 (from the sixteenth to the twentieth and from the twenty-second to the twenty-seventh kilometers) and at the end of 2016. The timing of the completion of the reconstruction of the Yaroslavl highway coincided with the planned ones.

Reconstruction plots

At the moment, three sections of Yaroslavka were reconstructed: one in the Moscow Ring Road and two in the region. Full-scale work was carried out from the ring road to Mytishchi, then to the city of Pushkino and bypassing Tarasovka - they already modernized the Yaroslavl highway. Reconstruction (the timing of which has not yet been specified) from the city of Pushkino to the Small Ring is at the design stage.

Reconstruction results

As a result of the modernization of the road, the capacity of the route increased and the conditions for the movement of public transport (Yaroslavskoe shosse) were improved. Reconstruction, the terms of which were met in accordance with the project documentation, was completed with such results:

  • Side passages were built from the even and odd sides of the Yaroslavl Highway to Malyginsky Passage;
  • Increased pedestrian crossing in the area of the one hundred and thirteenth house along the Yaroslavl Highway for the length of side passageways;
  • An overpass was erected at the intersection with Malyginsky passage;
  • From the Severyaninsky overpass to Malyginsky passage, lateral passages were built;
  • A soundproof screen in front of the Sergeant and Palekh streets;
  • A transit trestle was built along the Veshnih Vody street;
  • Before the Congress on the streets of Yenisei and Pilot Babushkin, the braking band was extended and the width of the congress was increased;
  • Near the house two hundred and eleven along the Prospect Mira there is an underground pedestrian crossing;
  • Road crossings with the Agricultural street are arranged;
  • From the ninety-first to ninety-seventh houses on Prospect Mira is equipped with a trip to three lanes.

Objects of construction

The list of objects erected during the modernization of the Yaroslavl highway includes:

  • Pedestrian crossings (three transits within the MKAD were reconstructed);
  • Transit trestles (in the area of Veshnih Vody street and at the intersection of Yaroslavka and Malyginsky passage);
  • A strip for public transport and lateral passages.

Reconstruction in figures

It was planned that the reconstruction of the Yaroslavl highway as a whole would cost the government eight billion rubles. The cost of the project within the MKAD (7.5-kilometer stretch to the Garden Ring) amounted to almost five hundred million rubles.

Problems of the new Yaroslavl

A lot of difficulties came from the reconstruction of the Yaroslavl highway in the area (2014). The scheme presents the project in a rather profitable way: there are pedestrian crossings, a separate lane for public transport and side pockets that allow pedestrians waiting for transport to be away from the flow of cars, which is much safer than if the buses stopped Directly on the road. But the construction and subsequent introduction of modernized sites in operation revealed several problems of the new Yaroslavka.

Firstly, during the erection or reconstruction of construction sites (overpasses, side passages, pedestrian crossings), concrete blocks were laid along the roadway, which caused the emergence of emergency situations. The most serious situation in this respect developed on the site from Mytishchi to the village of Tarasovka, where several junctions were built.

The inconvenience was the forced narrowing of the route for the period of construction work, as well as a change in the trajectory of the road. Thus, the Yaroslavl highway (the reconstruction, the timing of the completion of which was expected by many drivers, only worsened the road situation) became quite a dangerous site.

Secondly, even after the reconstruction, the following inconveniences for pedestrians were revealed:

  1. The road became bezvetofornoy. Of course, underground ground crossings were built in exchange , but it is known that it is rather difficult to use them for less mobile citizens.
  2. The stops are located far enough from the underground passages. To maintain objectivity, it should be noted that the problem is not relevant for all stops of public transport on the Yaroslavl highway.

Drivers, more than half of whom are dissatisfied with the reconstruction, note that after the works of traffic jams not only remained, but also became not uniform, but concentrated in several bottlenecks of the new route. However, the reconstruction of the Yaroslavl highway in the area (2014), the scheme of which is presented in the article, is planned further, so that, perhaps, the problems will be eliminated with time.
