Recipe for beginners: cake "Spartacus"

Eyes run out when you open the sites, where cakes are depicted from the photo of step-by-step recipes: which one to stop at? If there are no special culinary skills, all the proposed methods seem too complicated. They say: "The first pancake (or cake) is lumpy." To failure did not disappoint you and did not discourage the whole life of hunting for culinary experiments, let's try to bake a simple pie with chocolate-honey cakes and a gentle-gentle cream.

Cake "Spartacus" is named in honor of the ancient Roman gladiator, who raised a rebellion of slaves against the exploiters. During the Soviet era, when such heroism was welcomed in every possible way, the confectionery factories of the country produced chocolate sweets under this name. By the way, the sweets were very good: the dark chocolate praline alternated with light vanilla-cream, so that on the cut it turned out something like a "zebra". Later, a confectionery product with this name appeared, where the dark praline was replaced with honey cakes with the addition of cocoa.

As you already probably understand, the cake "Spartacus" is a layered pie in which alternate dark cakes with light cream. This does not mean that we will deal with a very laborious layered test. But still we need to make it so that the cakes are as thin as possible. If they are thick, the cream will not soak them, and the taste of the cake will resemble a hard-boiled sandwich. Therefore, do not be lazy to roll out the dough with a rocking chair - this is the main secret of "Spartacus."

In a bowl, mix wheat flour (three glasses without a slide), cocoa (2 tablespoons) and 1 packet of powder for biscuits. In a saucepan, put two tablespoons of honey and put on a small fire. When honey becomes liquid, pour in 6 tablespoons of milk, add a glass of sugar, 50 grams of butter and drive one egg. We put this mixture in a water bath: a small saucepan is immersed in a large one with boiling water. Constantly stirring with a spoon, cook until the grains of sugar completely dissolve. We take out of the bath and let it cool down a little. When the mixture is not hot, but warm, pour in the flour with cocoa and knead the dough (it should not turn out too tight). Cake "Spartacus" requires 10-12 cakes. Therefore, we divide the dough into the indicated number of koloboks.

Thinly roll out the cakes and give them a round shape using a shape or a simple plate. Accurately transfer the dough to a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven to a maximum of only 3-4 minutes. First you need to prepare all the cakes, and then really start to take the cream. Very delicious cake comes out, if you add grated lemon zest to the filling. In a mixer, we rub 300 grams of quality oil (by no means a margarine!) With one and a half glasses of powdered sugar.

We have already mastered the culinary reception of a water bath. This time we pour 2 eggs, 500 ml of milk and 2 soup spoons of flour into a small saucepan. Soar all this until the mass begins to thicken. When it cools, you need to pour it into a mixer with sweet butter, add grated zest and beat again.

Now we smear the cake "Spartacus" with cream. Do not forget about the side of the culinary product, but the upper cake is left "naked." To cream soaked the dough, you need to give our masterpiece time: at least a half to two hours in the fridge (you can put something heavy on top, for example, a tablet). While the cake is soaked, we prepare the glaze for decoration: we put on the "bath" chocolate, filling it with a small amount (literally a couple of tablespoons) of milk or sour cream. It remains to pour still warm sweet top of "Spartacus" and again put it in the refrigerator.
