Cleaning and disassembly

To clean the barrel, a copper ramrod is used. The barrel is wiped with a rag, wetted in oil and pushed through the barrel bore with a ramrod. As soon as there are no dark spots on the rags, the remaining oil is wiped dry in the trunk.

The mechanism is cleaned with a dry toothbrush. In the places of moving knots, oil is added (using a long nipple for this purpose or spraying from a can).

The assembly is assembled in reverse order. The assembled product is wiped from excess oil, but not wiped dry - the remains of a thin oil film will protect against early rusting of the metal.

Preparing the product for use

At first the store is charged with balls and a CO2 balloon is screwed into it. The equipped magazine is placed in the handle until it stops, while the fuse is transferred parallel to the trunk.

Security measures

To minimize walking with a loaded weapon, you must prepare a target in advance. Shots are produced only towards the goal, making sure that there are no people in the direction of the shooting. Before carrying the MP 654 pistol must be discharged, for which the other balls in the store are being shot and the balloon with the remaining gas is wrung out.

During operation of the gun it is prohibited:

• To direct people in the muzzle;
• Store and leave in a charged state;
• Disconnect the full container from the magazine;
• To disassemble the store with the balloon placed.

Also, when the speed of the bullet decreases, which is associated with the gas consumption in the balloon, it is necessary to stop shooting in time, without producing blank shots without gas. Otherwise, after the magazine is removed, the bullets remaining in the barrel will fall into the shock-starting mechanism, provoking its breakdown.

Replacement and repair of parts

Often, it is necessary to replace the dried up attachments and the "springs" in the pneumatic gun. Replacing seals, they must be carefully removed from the seats.

To eliminate gas leakage, sealants are lubricated with silicone oil. It is not recommended to use automotive fluid WD-40, because it destroys the polymer material.

• A common problem for all CO ₂ pneumatics, which concerns the reduction of the temperature of the can with frequent firing and leads to a significant decrease in the speed of the bullet;
• In some models, modifications are permissible which impair the tightness of the pneumatics system;
• Not completely similar to the original gun: experts will notice that there is no ejector and there is an extra screw with a ring to twist the balloon at the bottom of the handle;
• It is impossible to install other sighting devices - except for the laser target designator in front of the trigger guard.

Despite the fact that the pneumatic pistol Makarov MP 654 has some drawbacks, they are not considered critical for shooting enthusiasts. To reduce the wear of the barrel and increase the speed of the bullet, it is recommended to use lead balls. To increase the tightness, you can make easy tuning, which does not take long.
