Picture "Morning in a Pine Forest": description and history of creation

Ivan Shishkin glorified not only his hometown (Elabuga) throughout the country, but also the entire vast territory of Russia to the whole world. The most famous of his paintings is "Morning in the Pine Forest". Why is it so famous and why is it considered to be the standard of painting? Let's try to understand this question.

Shishkin and landscapes

Ivan Shishkin is a well-known landscape painter. His unique style of work takes its roots from the Düsseldorf School of Drawing. But, unlike most colleagues, the artist missed the basic tricks through himself, which allowed to create a unique style, not inherent in anybody else.

Shishkin admired nature all his life, she inspired him to create numerous masterpieces from a million colors and shades. The artist has always tried to depict the flora as it sees it, without any exaggerations and ornaments.

He tried to choose the landscapes untouched by the human hand. Virgin, like the forests of the taiga. Shishkin's paintings combine realism with a poetic view of nature. Ivan Ivanovich saw poetry in the play of light and shadow, in the power of Mother Earth, in the fragility of a single fir tree standing in the wind.

The versatility of the artist

It is difficult to imagine such a brilliant artist as the head of the city or as a school teacher. But Shishkin combined many talents. Coming from a merchant's family, he had to follow in the footsteps of the parent. In addition, Shishkin's good disposition quickly had people in the whole city to him. He was elected to the post of administrator and helped develop his native Elabuga, as he could. Naturally, this was manifested in the writing of paintings. Peru Shishkin belongs to the "History of the city of Elabuga".

Ivan Ivanovich managed to draw pictures and participate in fascinating archaeological excavations. For some time he lived abroad, and even became an academician in Dusseldorf.

Shishkin was an active member of the Wanderers Society, where he met with other famous Russian artists. He was considered a true authority among the rest of the painters. The master's style was tried to inherit, and the paintings inspired writers and painters alike.

After himself, he left a memory of the numerous landscapes that have become the adornments of museums and private collections around the globe.

After Shishkin, few people succeeded in realistically and so beautifully depicting the multifaceted nature of Russia. Whatever happened in the artist's personal life, he did not let his troubles be reflected in the canvases.

Prehistory

The artist with tremendous trepidation related to forest nature, she literally captivated him with her innumerable colors, a variety of shades, the rays of the sun, making their way through thick pine branches.

The painting "Morning in the Pine Forest" became the embodiment of this love of Shishkin to the forest. It quickly gained popularity, and was soon used in pop culture, on stamps, and even on candy wrappers. To this day, it is carefully stored in the Tretyakov Gallery.

Description: "Morning in the Pine Forest"

Ivan Shishkin managed to catch one moment from the whole forest life. He transmitted with the help of the drawing the moment of the beginning of the day when the sun was just beginning to rise. A wonderful moment of the birth of a new life. The painting "Morning in a Pine Forest" depicts a waking forest and still sleepy cubs, which are chosen from a secluded dwelling.

In this picture, as in many others, the artist wanted to emphasize the immensity of nature. To do this, he cut the tops of the pines at the top of the canvas.

If you look closely, you can see that the tree on which the cubs are sporting, roots are torn out. Shishkin seemed to emphasize that this forest is so unsociable and deaf that only animals can live in it, and the trees fall off themselves, from old age.

In the morning in the pine forest Shishkin pointed with the help of the fog, which we see between the trees. Thanks to this artistic move, the time of the day becomes evident.

Co-authorship

Shishkin was a great landscape painter, but he rarely took pictures of animals in his works. Painting "Morning in the Pine Forest" was no exception. He created a landscape, but four cubs painted another artist, specialist in animals, Konstantin Savitsky. They say that he prompted the very idea for this picture. Drawing the morning in a pine forest, Shishkin took Savitsky a co-author, and the picture was originally signed by them two. However, after the canvas was transferred to the gallery, Tretyakov found Shishkin's work more extensive and erased the name of the second artist.

History

Shishkin and Savitsky went to nature. So the story began. The morning in the pine forest seemed so beautiful that it could not be immortalized on canvas. To search for a prototype, they went to Gordomlya Island, which stands on Lake Seliger. There they found this landscape and new inspiration for the picture.

The island, all covered with forests, preserved the remains of a virgin nature. For many centuries he stood untouched. This could not leave indifferent artists.

Claims

The painting was born in 1889. Although initially Savitsky and put in a claim to Tretyakov that he erased his name, but soon changed his mind and refused this masterpiece in favor of Shishkin.

Pavel Tretyakov justified his decision by the fact that the style of the painting completely corresponds to what Ivan Ivanovich did, and even the bears' sketches originally belonged to him.

Facts and Misconceptions

Like any known canvas, the picture "Morning in the Pine Forest" arouses great interest. Consequently, it has a number of interpretations, it is mentioned in literature and cinema. About this masterpiece they speak both in high society and on the streets.

Over time, some facts have been changed, and general errors are firmly entrenched in society:

  • One of the common mistakes is the opinion that "Morning in the Pine Forest" Vasnetsov created together with Shishkin. Viktor Mikhailovich, of course, was familiar with Ivan Ivanovich, because they were together in the club of the Wanderers. Nevertheless, Vasnetsov could not be the author of such a landscape. If you pay attention to his style, he does not look like Shishkin, they belong to different art schools. These names are still mentioned together from time to time. Vasnetsov is not that artist. "Morning in the Pine Forest," without any doubt, painted Shishkin.
  • The name of the picture is "Morning in a Pine Forest". Bohr is just a second name, which, apparently, seemed to people more suitable and mysterious.
  • Unofficially, some Russians still call the picture "Three Bears", which is a blunder. Animals in the picture are not three, but four. It is likely that the canvas was so called because of the popular in Soviet times candy called "Bear-Toad". On the candy wrapper there was a reproduction of Shishkin's reproduction Morning in a Pine Forest. In the people gave the name "Three Bears".
  • The picture has its own "first version". Shishkin painted another canvas of the same theme. He called it "Fog in the Pine Forest". A few people know about this picture. She is rarely remembered. There are no canvases on the territory of the Russian Federation. To this day it is stored in a private collection in Poland.
  • Initially, the picture was only two cubs. Later, Shishkin decided that the image should be attended by four toe-toots. Thanks to the addition of two more bears, the painting changed its genre. She began to be on the "borderland", as some elements of the game scene appeared on the landscape.
