Zaha Hadid: architecture. Biography and personal life Zahi Hadid

In the modern world there are a lot of architects, but only some of them are really outstanding. One of the best specialists in this field is Zakho Hadid. Biography of this woman is full of dizzying stages in life. Large-scale projects, majestic features, the ability to present themselves and their work - this is all that characterizes Zaha Hadid.

Who is Zaha Hadid?

Biography of the great architect is in many ways connected with Baghdad. Here in 1950 she was born in a wealthy family belonging to the class of the bourgeoisie. Her father's name was Muhammad Al Hajj Hussein, and his mother was Wajji al Sabunji. The first education Zaha received at the American University, located in Beirut, in the class of mathematics. Then she spent five years studying at the London Association of Architects. After receiving this education, she began working in an architectural bureau, owned by her teacher and mentor Rem Koolhaas. Having transferred all the best qualities and skills from a remarkable Dutch architect, Zaha decided to create her own firm Zaha Hadid Architects.

As a teenager, she was famous for her unlimited imagination. Already at that time a small architect, Zaha Hadid, performed various works on order or of free will. Among her proposals were such projects as an inhabited bridge over the Thames or an upturned skyscraper in Leicester. The architecture of Zaha Hadid always had a certain identity. An example of this is the club's project, the location of which was to serve as a high mountain. Then the projects of Zahi Hadid received various architectural awards, but did not find ways of implementation. The most important reason for this was the unwillingness of customers to take on a non-standard, new, innovative project. But all the projects of Zaha Hadid were original.

Over time, Zakha still considered a true architect. After the recognition, interesting projects began to come to her. The first was the building of Zaha Hadid for the furniture company "Vitra". She developed a fire unit in the form of a bomber. Then she was given more and more projects, and as a result, the building from the architect is now in dozens of cities.

Personal life Zaha Hadid, despite not all her successes and attractive appearance, could not line up. She was fully realized as an architect, but she could not be realized as a woman.

Unexpected departure from life

On March 31, 2016, the greatest modern architect Zaha Hadid left the life. The cause of the death of a remarkable and talented woman is very vital and often occurring. 65-year-old Zakho killed a heart attack. It happened to her in Miami. She came here only to treat her bronchitis. So, in a moment did not become a genius, original and very cheerful person. Unfortunately, Zaha Khadid did not have children, so after her death, only work and business remained a reminder of this woman.

Creative way

The works of Zaha Hadid interested the public and customers after the world became acquainted with the magnificent creation of Frank Gehry - the Guggenheim Museum, which was erected in Bilbao. An astonishing demand architecture Zahi Hadid received after she took part in the construction of the Center for Contemporary Art Rosenthal. Its architectural designs always went against the generally accepted canons. In all the works, Zaha Hadid tried to go beyond and give a new powerful impetus to space. So, in its projects it is possible to track a distorted perspective, which helps to identify acute angles and distortions.

Woman architect Zaha Hadid worked fine with large forms. But apart from her architectural talent, she also had an extraordinary ability to create installations, theatrical scenery, interiors, paintings and even shoes. Performing small works, Zacha honed new forms. Zahi Hadid architecture adorns many cities, and her small works are kept in such museums as MoMa, the German Museum of Architecture and others. In addition to creating new forms and objects, Zacha shared her knowledge with pleasure. She often conducted master classes and lectured in various countries around the world.

Among the works of Zaha Hadid - a number of furniture collections. One of the most memorable interior items created by Zaha is the Chandler Vortex lamp and the Crystal chair. Unique creative projects led Zakho to the first design exhibition in Miami, where she was awarded the title of "Designer of the Year".

Zakhi's print in Russia

Russia visited more than once. In this regard, to meet the architecture of Zaha Hadid was quite simple. In 2004, she was invited to the Hermitage Theater, where she was awarded the Pitzker Prize. In the same year, Zaha Hadid read an interesting lecture at the Central House of the architect. A year later she returned to Russia with a master class, which was held on the basis of the ARCH-Moscow exhibition. This same year Zacha brought a project in Moscow. The company "Capital Group" invited an extraordinary architect to design a residential complex "Scenic Tower". So the first building of Zaha Hadid appeared in Moscow. Address of the building: Moscow, st. Picturesque. Seven years later, in 2012, Zaha Hadid undertook the construction of the futuristic mansion of Vladislav Doronin on the Rublevo-Uspenskoe highway.

In 2015, a new business center "Peresvet-Plaza" was erected in Moscow, the architect of which was Zaha Hadid. Moscow, Sharikopodshipnikovskaya street, house 5 - the address of the new building of the great architect in Russia. The structure is made in avant-garde style, and at first glance it seems that this is some kind of cosmic object that descended from heaven to earth.

The legendary buildings of Zaha Hadid

Each building, built according to the project of Zaki Hadid, becomes a legend. You can take her any job, and each of them can be surely called the best. Among the amazing projects Zaha Hadid:

  1. The tower in Beijing is an object that amazes not only its scale, but also its innovativeness. The creators of the construction turned to such technologies, which allowed to reduce the amount of energy consumed and to minimize the emission of pollutants.
  2. Center for Contemporary Art Rosenthal in America - this project brought Zaha Hadid Pritzker Prize.
  3. Springboard in Innsbruck.
  4. The main building of BMW in Leipzig is the result of rethinking the functions of a traditional office.
  5. National Museum of Art of the twenty-first century in Rome.
  6. London Water Sports Center - the building was created for the 2012 Olympic Games.
  7. The center of Geydar Aliyev in the territory of Baku is erected in honor of the third president of Azerbaijan.
  8. A futuristic mansion on Rublevke in Moscow is a country house of Vladislav Doronin, visually reminiscent of a spaceship.
  9. The Central Bank of Iraq is a very important building for Zaha, as it was built in her homeland. Unfortunately, by the time the building was completed, the great architect was no longer alive.
  10. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University - when you look at it, you immediately recall the legendary "Titanic".

These are just a few of the wonderful works of Zaha Hadid. No less inspiring and grandiose projects are the buildings of the museum of transport in Glasgow, the mountain museum in Italy, the shopping and entertainment center in Beijing, etc. Several of the superexpatial works of Zaha Hadit are further described in more detail.

Galaxy SOHO (Beijing)

The grandiose building is located on a land plot of 47 thousand square meters. The construction of this object of architecture lasted for 30 months between 2009 and 2012. This complex is the first building built in China under the Zaha Hadid project. Experts and connoisseurs believe that SOHO is the best creation of Hadid in the whole of Asia. According to the concept of the architectural agency Zahi Hadid, this building was made without sharp corners. As for the name, it was originally called "without corners". Patrick Schumacher, a colleague of Zaha, decided that this is too gross a name for the concept and suggested renaming it into a "panoramic architecture".

The area of the complex is 330 thousand square meters. It consists of five voluminous objects. Each of them has a rounded shape and reaches a height of up to 67 meters. Between each of each element is connected by different level platforms of floors and covered tunnels. Due to the rounding of the interfloor overlap visually the complex became similar to a dynamically moving object. The building has a reinforced concrete frame. The height of office ceilings reaches three and a half meters. In the trading floors, the ceilings rise to a height of more than five meters. In total there are 18 floors in the complex, three of which are underground. Near the building there is parking for 1250 cars.

Cultural Center of Heydar Aliyev

This structure is striking in its scale. The total area of its territory exceeds 111 thousand square meters. Within the walls of the cultural center are such important premises as a museum, a conference hall, a library. There is also a special zone for various kinds of events. The predominant share in the building has absolutely transparent glass walls. In this format, not only external walls are executed, but also internal ones. This allows you to minimize power consumption and use the maximum natural light. Like almost all projects of Zaha Hadid, the architecture of Heydar Aliyev's cultural center consists of rounded lines. In this building harmoniously combines a wave-like desire for the sky and a smooth approach to the earth. This concept of the project was chosen not by chance. According to the idea of the author, first of all the center should personify infinity and duration. The color of the building is white, which is a symbol of a bright future.

CMA CGM Tower (Marseille, France)

By the forces of the most famous architect of Arab origin in 2011, the construction of an impressive skyscraper was completed. In total, it has 37 full-fledged floors. The total height of the building is 147 meters. The place of its location is the business district in a kilometer from the central part of Marseilles. Here this skyscraper is the tallest building. The purpose of this facility is the head office of the local company CMA CGM. Headquarters has a very advantageous location relative to the coastline, from it to the building there are only one hundred meters. The architectural agency Zahi Hadid obtained the right to create the project of this building by winning a special competition, organized in 2004. The beginning of construction was launched in the same year. After seven years it was already put into operation. At its capacity, the building can comfortably accommodate 2,700 people. Under the project, the skyscraper was built parking for 700 cars and 200 motorcycles. Visitors can also visit the restaurant, designed for 800 people, or in the gym. The building occupies about 94 thousand square meters. In its importance, the skyscraper is included in the TOP-10 skyscrapers of 2011.

One Thousand Museum Tower (Miami, USA)

A skyscraper sixty stories high was erected on the project of Zaha Hadid in the heart of Miami, on the Biscay Boulevard. The house includes 83 luxury apartments. The area of each apartment is different, as well as their cost. The minimum price of one room is $ 5 million. The maximum reaches fifteen million. According to Zaha Hadid, this building was supposed to affect the city's skyline. Within the framework of the project, the architect proposed to make a podium at the base of the building, from which the tower will be built. According to its shape, the tower will be different from those standing by its non-standard design. It seems to be braided from the outside with a concrete frame. So the outer part of the building becomes like a tree braided with branches. The balconies and loggias of the apartments seem to be buried in the general plane of the facade. The purpose of the podium is to create a multi-purpose public zone. There are shops, a cinema, a fitness center. Surround the lower building block are metal panels with perforations. They give the podium a futuristic stylistics.

Museum of the XXI century (Rome)

The National Museum of Art according to Zaha Hadid's plan became a vast cluster of different cultures. As the basis of this building it was customary to take the complex, which housed the barracks of Montello. For Rome it is very symbolic that a new cultural object was built on top of an ancient building. The interior of this museum of the 21st century is 21 thousand square meters. Visually, it is like frozen forever flows of volcanic lava. Such an effect is created by moving three-dimensional structures from concrete into each other. Glass surfaces play an important role in this cultural object. Almost the entire first floor, as well as the roof, consist of transparent glass. Thus, all the cultural values stored in the museum can be viewed under daylight. Inside the building there is an atrium, assembled from two tiers. It connects all the rooms of the museum with each other. Transitions and asthenic openings inside the building are similar to black ribbons, braiding white concrete walls of the building. The architectural decoration of the museum in 2010 was awarded the Stirling Prize in the UK. So, with one gesture of the hand, Zaha Hadid turned uncomplicated barracks into a surprisingly unordinary wealth of the country.

Capital Hill Residence (Moscow)

Vladislav Doronin never stinted on creating his own comfort. This also applies to his housing. So, in 2015, Zaha Hadid developed a project of his futuristic mansion, which was built by the oligarch on the Rublevo-Uspenskoe highway. The total area of the trendy and extra-ordinary building is two and a half thousand square meters. The basis of the concept of Zaha Hadid was ekostyle. When designing Doronin's house, she tried to harmoniously mix modern technologies with natural features. When you take a look at this mansion, at once there is a feeling that a spaceship has flown from another planet and settled in Barvikha. The rooms inside the building are divided into four levels. At the bottom there is a living room, a gym, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam and a massage room. Next are the reception area for guests, a kitchen with a dining room and a swimming pool. On one floor there is a library, a children's room, a living room and a huge hall. The final floor includes master rooms and a luxurious terrace.

It should be noted that the design of private houses is not included in the main specialization of Zaha Hadid. According to experts, for this work she received a fee with six zeros. As a result, the business union Zahi Hadid and Vladislav Doronin demonstrated to the world the most luxurious project and private house of the world level. The only thing that remains incomprehensible for many people is who will live there. There is an opinion that this house, like many others, the Moscow billionaire will present as a gift to his beloved Naomi Campbell.
