How to draw a lion from a cartoon (for beginners)

2) Draw an oval in the lower part of the head. It affects the elongation of the nose and the width of the cheeks. We mark out the front paws of the lion with ovals, one hind paw (we do not see the second, because the animal lies) and the tail. Do not twist the tail very much, because it looks unbelievable.

3) Mark the location of the eyes, ears, draw the muzzle. Also draw a large lush mane, but note that on one side we see more mane than on the other (because of the animal's posture). Draw a lion's mouth and lower canines, which are slightly visible from the mouth. In addition, draw a long wool on your chin - such a beard. Thus, the lion looks more massive.

4) Draw in more detail the previous stage. Please note that this is the penultimate step, so consider all the details.

5) The lion drawn in pencil is ready. To make it look more regal, it is advisable to draw contours with a marker, a black felt-tip pen, or (in extreme cases) with a gel pen. On joining lines, make contours thicker, this will create a volume effect.

6) You can color the lion with colored markers, felt-tip pens or pencils. Before painting, erase all the lines drawn with a pencil, because after painting they will not erase, and with them the pattern will look messy. You can also paint the lion with paints (gouache is an excellent choice!), But in this case you will have to update the contours when they dry up.
