Children's theme in the artist's work

During the Great Patriotic War, he created a genre painting "Took the language" (1943). The reason for writing it was one case. One day he arrived from Sevastopol to Moscow and saw children playing in the street in the war. He was interested in this, and he stopped to look at the children. None of them agreed to be in the role of "fascist". On this bait came across only kids who did not understand anything in politics. "Fritz" well beat up guys who quickly entered the role. Reshetnikov was interested in this story, and he painted the painting "Get the Language". She opened children's themes in his work, which became one of the main themes in the post-war period. He also created such works as "For a Visit" (1947), "For Peace" (1950) and, perhaps, the most popular painting - "Again the Deuce." Reshetnikov wrote it in 1952.

The plot of another picture - "Arrived on vacation" (1948) - is also taken from everyday life.

After the end of the Great Patriotic War, Fyodor Pavlovitch often saw how Suvorov's relatives meet. Everyone happy and happy went home, and the boys cheerfully walked. Reshetnikov imagined one of them returning to his home corner and reporting the entire form to his grandfather (a regular military man): "I've come for a vacation!" The guy is very proud that he is already a small soldier. Grandfather all stands "hogwash", taking a report from his beloved grandson. The score has some humorous and at the same time serious character.

F. Reshetnikov, "Again the deuce." History of creation

Initially, the artist wanted to write a picture about a round high achiever, who informs his mother about the next five. In search of such a student Fyodor Pavlovich went to school. Teachers planted the artist on the "gallery", from where he carefully observed all and slowly sketched. The children were obviously embarrassed and a little worried, as they thought that this man came from the town with a check. The teacher called one excellent student to the board and gave him an absolutely uncomplicated task. But the boy was very confused, he could not concentrate and solve the given example. From the class the students whispered clues to him, but because of the fright he did not understand them at all. He lowered his head and stood silently with chalk in his hands. And then a new theme was born to the artist, and the picture "Again the Deuce" appeared. Reshetnikov made the main character a boy stupid and alive.

How was the picture created?

First, the master decided to draw a male teacher. But since almost all women work in the school, they painted a teacher. But the artist did not like the original sketch. He seemed uninteresting and boring to him. Then he had the idea to move the scene: from the school class to the house. After all, a bad mark is an unpleasant event for the whole family. Before the picture "Again the Deuce" appeared, Reshetnikov created a considerable number of preparatory drawings. Fyodor Pavlovitch carefully selected the models for his composition. The main character was a boy goalkeeper, whom he met in the courtyard. Another important character was a dog. That he was standing on his hind legs, the artist bought him sausages, and the owner fed him while he drew. In the final sketches appeared mother, elder sister and younger brother.

F. P. Reshetnikov, "Again the deuce" (description)

In the foreground of the picture is a boy with a sad face and a lowered head. His sorrowful appearance is connected with the deuce received at school. He knows that he will now be scolded, so he is very upset. From his portfolio, the cause of the bad mark looks treacherously - these are the skates with which the schoolboy was carried away. His faithful friend feels that the small host is upset by something. Wagging his tail, he rushed to the kid, all his appearance showing that he was sorry for him. A bit far off is a disappointed mother, who is very unpleasant that her son received another bad mark. Next to her is a little brother on a bicycle. He does not quite understand what is happening. He is just pleased that the older brother returned from school and is now playing with him. In the background, a sister is depicted. Her strict and condemning view is impossible not to notice. She does not understand why the boys are so irresponsible to study. A wall clock, a window and a door to the room are drawn. That's the whole picture "Again the deuce." Reshetnikov not only in this composition, but also in other works, portrayed the boys as enthusiastic fidgets, of which real men will certainly grow up.

Thus, Fyodor Pavlovitch Reshetnikov is a bright personality, original and unusually gifted. He was an excellent artist, cartoonist and sculptor. From the existing directions he was excited by socialist realism. A significant place is occupied by the children's theme in his work. These are "Get the Language," "For a Visit," "For Peace," "Again, Deuce," and many others.
