Lev Novikov is a famous Russian stylist, cultural figure whose life was bright but short. At the same time, almost everyone who worked with him remained a bright memory of him. And these are pop stars, filmmakers, theater directors. Those who knew Novikov personally, note that, despite natural talents, he, unlike many gifted from childhood, did not stop in development. His mastery constantly acquired new facets.

Biography of the stylist

Lev Novikov was born in Saratov on February 7, 1958. He studied at the Faculty of Philology of the local university, but left, drawing and painting. The only education was in 1983. He became a hairdresser by profession and began to work in a beauty salon located in Moscow on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment.

Success abroad

During perestroika, it was much easier to build a career abroad than immediately took advantage of Novikov. In 1989, he is already an employee of the Italian beauty salon "Larry" in New York, where he performs the function of hair stylist.

In the early 90's continues to actively cooperate with the theater, both in Russia and on foreign tours. Participates in staging performances "Lady Without Camellias", "Lolita" based on the novel by Vladimir Nabokov, another production of the play "The Maids", but already by Roman Viktyuk. On Broadway he works as a stylist in the play "M. Butterfly" by D. Juan. The last production had to seriously study the Chinese traditional national make-up, so that the actors on the stage looked as natural as possible.

Creating a star style

Tragedy in his personal life

With his wife Novikov soon parted. To get a job in Moscow, constantly had to look for where to spend the night, have patrons in this life. These patrons usually demanded a payback by the body. Novikov embarked on this path.

And it was not only women, but also men. So soon in the USSR, in which there was officially no sex, and homosexuality was prosecuted by law, it became known that Lev Novikov was gay.

Over time, with traditional sexual orientation, he finally said goodbye. Apparently, the failed relationship in marriage affected. At the same time, the constant partner of the hero of our article was not. But only casual communications. With this development of events, Novikov automatically fell into the risk group of those who can become infected with AIDS. In the end, it happened.

Close friends

In the most difficult period, only the closest friends remained with him. The greatest help to him was provided by Kristina Orbakaite, Boris Moiseyev and Alla Demidova. Everyone else turned away from him.
