"Opel Manta" - the legendary German coupe of the 70s

"Opel Manta" was published in 1970. This car almost immediately became popular. The fact is that at that time the Ford Capri was very much in demand. Therefore, the German automaker decided to give an answer to the American concern and released a sports coupe.

The car "Opel Manta" was built according to the scheme 2 + 2. This is the real coupe. His design is very interesting. Even if now, in the 21st century, this car will pass through the city, everyone will pay attention to it.

The 1.9E was the most powerful, because it produced 105 hp. All engines worked in tandem with a 4-speed "mechanics".

The best versions were cars "Opel Manta" B GT / E Coupe. In these configurations the machine received engines for 100, 105 and 110 hp. The maximum speed was respectively 180, 185 and 187 km / h. Interestingly, these models were equipped with sports seats and light alloy wheels. If the buyer wanted, then for an additional fee could install a 5-way transmission.

At that time, such models cost about 15,000 DM (this is approximately 570,000 rubles). But the price of the most powerful version was about 20,000 DM.

Last years

It is interesting that there were also versions of the Manta in the hatchback body. They were issued ten years, since 1978. The best thing in them was a spacious interior with an extra space for things and power units. The engine in Opel Manta was completely different. 2.0-liter, 100-strong - with this engine the car accelerated to 163 km / h. True, still offered engines for 90 and 75 hp. Less volume.
