Nissan Patrol: history and modernity

Nissan Patrol is one of the world's most famous all-wheel drive off-road vehicles.

It is produced by the Japanese auto giant Nissan Motors since 1961. Naturally, during this period the model has undergone significant changes. But Nissan Patrol reviews have only positive, winning glory of a tough and reliable SUV. Currently, various versions of the model are used by the military in some Asian countries and the UN forces in the Middle East.

The first (1951-1960, 4W60 series) and the second (1959-1980, series 60) generations of the Nissan Patrol model did not have a rigid roof, but they had a full drive, they were produced in three versions of wheelbases. They were equipped with a three-stage MCP F3B83L and a two-stage "distribution" for connecting the all-wheel drive. The engine models had a powerful: a six-cylinder by 3.97 liters. In 1963, the KGL60 and KG60 models came in for sale, with a rigid roof and a modified design.

In the third generation (until 2003), the series of models 160 (MQ / MK) Nissan Patrol was equipped with new engines (SD33, P40, L28). In all versions there was a four-speed "mechanics". The company also presented a variant with a diesel engine and a 24-volt electric. On all models there was a suspension on the springs. The fourth generation (1987-1997, series Y60) models Nissan Patrol radically began to differ in technical terms from all predecessors. Models were equipped with a spring suspension (rear became five-lever), disc rear brakes.

Considerable attention was paid to the design and increase of the level of internal comfort. In 2004, the model had new headlights, an original grille and large rear lights.

The sixth generation of the model was introduced in 2010. Thirteenth of February, the new Nissan Patrol was exhibited in Abu Dhabi (UAE) as "the hero of all lands." The model was able to make a splash not only with its technical capabilities, but also with an excellent external and internal design. The luxury version is sold as Infiniti QX56. In most countries, a new model appeared only last year.

Nissan Patrol is equipped with a high-tech engine (5.6 l.), Which has a capacity of 400 hp. (The turning moment is 560 N). In addition, there is a large number of functions and automatic transmission. In the four-mode all-wheel drive system, it is possible to switch between different modes: "snow", "rocks", "on the road", "sand". This is done with a simple click of the switch.

The new model has an HBMC system that helps reduce body rolls when cornering with hydraulic cylinders mounted on shock absorbers. Thanks to this, the ride becomes more comfortable. The system is capable of being activated in a situation where one of the wheels has lost support.

The model has an electronic locking rear differential, a special program for descent and ascent to the hill, stability control and auto-braking.
