Motorists are different. Some people are particularly pleased to dig into the interior of the engine, changing everything to such an extent that the technical specifications grows one and a half times. Others, for example, are more concerned about the interior - genuine leather seats, branded caps and door handles, etc. There are also those who adore "clean", unchanged cars. Everything should be exactly as the manufacturer did. But the vast majority still usually entertained, changing the appearance of his four-wheeled friend. For this, absolutely anything is used. In the course are spoilers, side skirts, bumpers and stuff. Some choose more functional changes. For example, change the lamp in the fog lamps, say, on a set of xenon H27. Such changes are quite justified, and it is about them that will be discussed.

What is a xenon lamp?

This is a pretty simple question. Lamps xenon H27, like any other, are made by the same technology - a mixture of gases is pumped into the glass flask under high pressure. The basis for the whole composition is, as can be understood from the name, xenon.

Further on, the required base and cartridge are connected. Actually, this is the end of their production. But they differ from each other, because, for example, a kit of xenon H27 4300K, this is already a clear definition of what exactly you are buying.

Principle of operation

The whole design works on the basis of an electric arc. This is a high-voltage discharge, which activates that gas mixture, which was mentioned earlier. Thus, all models of this class presented on the market work. So the difference between the lamp (xenon H27) and the other is simply not there. At least in such a specific area. In other categories of comparison, everything can be different.

Advantages of such lamps

The main value for which these useful devices are purchased is the luminescence temperature. This characteristic is close to the real sunlight, which makes xenon lamps H27 quite a profitable purchase. After all, this light is much more pleasing to the eye, and at the same time it is not glaring, although it is quite bright.

As another factor, it is possible to allocate a sufficiently high coefficient of efficiency. Gas - filled incandescent lamps usually die due to torn filaments. It should also be noted that the energy consumption is comparable to the same halogen - the X27 lamp, like that of any other, is much lower.

Differences of xenon from halogen

The fact is that the power that is consumed during constant operation is reduced by a factor of 1.5. Lamps are very different, but in general xenon is in the range of thirty-five to fifty watts, while incandescent lamps consume up to a hundred.

The luminous flux that the H27 lamp gives or any other lamp is the same is twice as large. Accordingly, from 800 to one and a half thousand, and 3,200 lumens from xenon.

Why are they so popular today?

Such a question is quite natural. It's all in the basement. Xenon cap H27 belongs to class H, as can be seen from the marking in the name. The bottom line is that the head light on the car is sharpened specially for this class - at least in most cars. Previously, the plinths that were produced massively had the size of D2R or D2S.

The latter were typical only for the means of transportation of the VIP category, and therefore, for the layman remained inaccessible. Now the market is full of standardized lamps. So all the same bulb xenon H27 is quite suitable for almost any car.

Suggested color temperature

Most lamps are still installed directly in factories. For domestic cars, this is not so common, but there are still shifts in this direction.

Either way, the factory records rarely differ from the set at 4300K. If they are higher, then not much. The point here is that if the color temperature is more than five thousand, the loss in the light flux will turn into a critical value. The latter will be the determining factor of whether enough light is provided by the installed lamps, which means that they can actually cause a stop and even a penalty.

In the market, you can find more options. For example, six or even seven thousand K. But there is no sense in this, because you can not use them as a near or fog light. In addition, the installation is rather complicated, and in the workshops they simply refuse to do this.

How to put H27 xenon?

The scheme below is just a description of the process by one of the motorists, therefore, it does not pretend to be absolutely accurate. Also, some changes need to be made according to the design of the car.

So, the first step is to remove the grille. To do this, unscrew the appropriate screws, and remove the latches. Only after all procedures can, in fact, be removed.

Next, remove the headlights - they are usually attached by several screws. After that you need to replace the lamps. Take out the usual ones and install the purchased Xenon H27 kit.

This is only the easiest part of the work - then you need to install the ignition unit. In the body must be a few full-time holes, where it can fit perfectly. Naturally, the device should be fixed securely, preferably at two or three points with screws - holes on it must be made by the manufacturer.

The last step is the connection of the necessary wires and their fastening. Here, H27 / 2 xenon is completed with a special set of harnesses. More precisely, this is not exactly the last step. You still need to adjust the light so as not to blind drivers to the oncoming, and then collect everything back, as it was. It takes a lot of time and effort.

What do I need to know for the correct installation?

First of all, that an independent installation can be dangerous or / and illegal. The fact is that the differences between xenon and halogen lamps are large enough. This was discussed above. But that's about the difficulties with the replacement there was not a word said.

It is necessary to warn that it is absolutely safe and legal to use only those lamps that are installed in the factory. The essence here is that the technology of production consists in using both special headlamps designed for such lamps, and in a special base. The factory assembly usually assumes the latter as D2S or D2R. Others, for example, as in our case Xenon H27 lamps, are quite rare.

Also about the blindness of other drivers - such complaints can often be heard in car forums. The light gets anywhere, just not on the roadway. Naturally, the fault is the wrong installation.

Automobile lovers usually ignore the precise adjustment of headlights. Specialists also install special autocorrectors, which can change the direction of the beam depending on the position of the body of the machine.

Still you need to know something about the interaction of xenon with standard headlights. They are not very suitable for each other. Standard headlights designed for halogen lamps, will quickly darken if you put the xenon. The point here in the ultraviolet spectrum, which emit such devices.

That's why specially made lenses are installed, which scatter light. Also complete with washers. You are not mistaken, because any extraneous material on the headlight will become a scattering factor, which means that the probability of dazzling other drivers will increase. The latter will lead, again, to fines and constant stops.

Of course, the advantages are obvious here, you've read about them yourself. But such work should be done by specialists - especially if your car is not designed by manufacturers for such mechanisms.

To use the best whole headlights with pre-installed lamps - to find something suitable for your "swallow" is quite real. The market of parts today is very rich in choice.

Consider also the fact that the correct installation will be quite expensive. Yes, in due course everything will pay off, but it will not happen soon, and it will be necessary to spend it right now. So it's up to you to decide whether to install this optic with your hands on the car or not.
