Nikita Ivanov is a professional boxer from Russia, performing in the light heavyweight category. Member of the Russian boxing team, gold and silver medalist of the European Championship (Ankara 2011, weight - up to 81 kg (silver), Minsk 2013, up to 81 kg - gold). In 2011, after performing at the European Championships in Ankara, he was awarded the title of Master of Sports of Russia of international class. Born April 18, 1986 in the city of Michurinsk (Tambov region, Russia). Ros and was brought up in an ordinary family - my father worked as a taxi driver all my life, and my mother was a veterinarian. From a young age, Nikita liked to watch boxing on TV and dreamed of becoming a professional boxer. His idols were Mike Tyson, Lenox Lewis and Roy Jones Jr.. When Nikita was 10 years old, his parents took him to the box, which the boy was very happy about. The first coach was Eduard Ivanko (formerly a three-time winner of the Tambov region championship in boxing). The boy immediately saw that in the future he will achieve considerable success in this sport. Nikita had some sort of boxing flair - without knowing any technique or stance, still fought well and kept his breath. All these inclinations to boxing, clearly hinted that you need to begin to train seriously.

Time for professional boxing and tight training

At the age of 12, the guy moves to Odintsovo to continue training, but with more distinguished masters. Here he joins the Dynamo sports community and trains with such professionals as Ashot Ivanovich Garakyan (Honored Coach of Russia), Zufer Mustafovich Khusyainov (author of the book "Technique of knockout punch") and Sergey Yuryevich Smirnov (boxer-professional).

The intensity of training immediately changed. Now Nikita lived on a strict regime - got up at six in the morning, ran a 10-kilometer cross, then proceeded to the main training session. After receiving a balanced meal and rest, Nikita went to an evening training, dedicated only to the technique of combat.

The first serious success was set in 2006, when Nikita won a victory in the Youth Spartakiad of the Central Federal District of Russia. Exactly one year later he managed to win the Central Federal District Championship, after which he immediately began to prepare for the debut entrance to the adult championship of the country. Nikita Ivanov took the ninth place, losing to Egor Mehontsev, but even this result was positive for the debutant.

In 2008, he again went to the Central Federal District Championship (Central Federal District Championship in boxing) light heavyweight and won a gold medal. In the same year he became the champion of the All-Russian competitions "Olympic Hopes", and at the Russian Championship he managed to reach only the quarterfinal duel, in which he suffered a fiasco. In 2009, Nikita Ivanov became the winner of the Russian Light Boxing Championship. In this regard, his candidacy was considered for participation in the World Championships held in Milan. But to great regret Ivanov failed to pass the qualifying stage, having suffered defeat from his compatriot Arthur Beterbiev.

Boxer's performances in the international arena and long-awaited gold

The next two years, Nikita Ivanov reached the finals of the Russian boxing championship in light heavyweight, however, lost to Yegor Mekhontsev. Despite this Ivanov showed himself well in various tournaments of international importance. In 2011, Russian boxer Nikita Ivanov represented his country at the European Championships, held in Ankara (Turkey). Here he managed to reach the final battle, where he was expected by Irishman Joe Ward. The fight was very difficult for both sportsmen, however, the Russian boxer lost with a score of 12-20. Having received a silver medal at the European Championships, Nikita Ivanov was awarded the title of the master of sports of Russia of international class.

In 2012, Ivanov again took part in the Russian boxing championship and took second place, losing in the final to a young and promising fighter Dmitry Bivol. After that, he began to prepare for the finals for the European Championships, which was held in Minsk in 2013. Once in the tournament, Nikita confidently and quickly reached the final stage, where he declassed his opponent and won a gold medal. This achievement was the most significant in his career.
