Kazakhstan wizard - Gennady Golovkin

The modern division of middleweights in professional boxing includes many talents. But Gennady Golovkin stands out in this galaxy of outstanding fighters. His ability to quickly read the opponent in the ring and the skills of aggressive conduct of the fight did their job and brought him to the top of the box, allowing him to become the world champion in several leading versions.

The appearance of the light

Gennady Golovkin was born in Karaganda on April 8, 1982. Now the deceased father of the guy was a miner, and his mother an assistant in a chemical laboratory. In addition to Genas, there were three brothers in his family, two of whom died under extremely incomprehensible circumstances while serving in the army. The third brother named Maxim is also a boxer and today he is a member of Gennady's team and helps him prepare for fights.

Sports career

Gennady Golovkin conducted his amateur performances very successfully. In total, he climbed to the amateur ring in 350 fights, and only in five of them he lost. Among his awards are the gold of the 2003 World Cup, the gold of the Asian Championships, the silver of the 2004 Olympic Games.

In the role of professional fighter Gennady Golovkin debuted in 2006. His first eight fights, he was able to finish ahead of schedule, knocking each of the opponents into a knockout.

The first title Kazakhstan athlete won at the end of 2010 in a fight with the representative of Panama Nelson Tapia. Over the next year, Golovkin successfully defended his belt and even managed to get the vacant at the time the title of champion under the IBO.

Speeches in the USA

In early autumn of 2012, Gennady Golovkin in the ring was confronted by the most dangerous fighter - Polish Grzegorz Proksa. But, as the fight showed, the Kazakh talent was able to knock out his famous rival in the 5th round.

In November of the same year Gennady was awarded the status of a single champion in the WBA version due to the refusal of Daniel Gil to fight him.

In January 2013, Golovkin carried out a voluntary title defense with Gabriel Rosado. This fight deserves special attention, because the American with his actions in the ring could show that he is not a passing fighter or some kind of "whipping boy". A native of Puerto Rico often counterattacked and inflicted accurate strikes, which, nevertheless, had no effect on the champion. And although the fight was very competitive and spectacular, yet the winner was Golovkin. The result of the battle is the defeat of Rosado by TKO in the 7th round.

Star status

Many people are willing to pay for viewing such a spectacle as boxing. Gennady Golovkin is the same sportsman whose fights began to be broadcasted on a paid system Pay-per-view.

The first and so far the only such battle was with the Canadian, David Lemieux, for the unification of the belts on October 17, 2015. Even before the fight, bookmakers and specialists recognized Golovkin as a favorite. After the gong, which marked the beginning of the first round of the fight, it became clear that the Canadians in this fight can not see victory. So in the end it happened. In the eighth round, a technical knockout of Lemieux was recorded, thanks to which Gennady took away the belt belonging to his rival IBF.
