Natural dyes for eggs - simple and safe

So, the bright holiday of Easter is approaching. On this day it is customary to give each other colorful eggs - krashenki. How and what color are you? We recommend using only natural dyes for eggs - it's simple and safe for the health of your loved ones. And what else should you pay special attention to? This will be discussed in our article.

Rules and ways of coloring eggs

When using dry chemical dyes, it is usually not necessary to boil eggs in them, it is enough to simply place the ready-made solution prepared in accordance with the instructions and to withstand the necessary time.

There is another way in which artificial colors of liquid consistency are used. In this case, the boiled eggs are smeared with a coloring compound and well ground until completely dry.

If you use natural dyes for eggs, the technology is somewhat different. At first, the broth is prepared, then it is infused for a while, and only then are the crusts cooked in it.

When working, consider some tricks:

- soak the eggs before cooking for a while at room temperature. This is necessary so that when cooking they do not burst;

- the shell must be whole, without damage;

- Wash and dry the prepared eggs;

- the cooking time should not exceed 10 minutes, otherwise the product will be unappetizing;

- to create floral ornaments and drawings on eggs before cooking, attach to the shell beautiful leaves and wrap them with nylon;

- Wipe ready, slightly warm krashenki vegetable oil to give them shine.

The most popular natural dyes for eggs

For painting Easter eggs in the old days, only natural raw materials were used - fruits, vegetables, herbs, bark of trees. And in our time, such dyes for eggs are very popular, because they are harmless to health (unlike chemical powders). The most commonly used are:

  1. Onion husks. Depending on the amount of material used for painting, the color of the krushenok can turn out to be light yellow or dark brown.
  2. Beet juice. It gives the eggs pink and burgundy shades. For coloring the eggs, prepare a solution: grate the beets on a grater, pour water and cook for 20-30 minutes. In the resulting strained broth, add a few spoons of vinegar and a little salt, then place the eggs in it and cook for 5-10 minutes. Allow to stand until cool.
  3. Spinach. A bright green color is obtained if the eggs are cooked in a pre-prepared solution. For this, cook the chopped spinach for 30-40 minutes.
  4. Birch leaves. Use them to get yellow shades of krish. Leaves can be taken not only fresh, but also dried. Pour them with boiling water, boil and let it brew for a more saturated color. Then the eggs prepared for painting should be lowered into a warm solution and boiled after boiling for 10 minutes.

Try also experimenting with coffee, black tea, red wine, turmeric, raspberry juice, red cabbage, blueberries and cranberries.
