Easter Egg is an obligatory attribute on the Easter holiday. On this bright holiday they occupy the main place on the table, they are eaten first, given to the poor, given to friends and relatives, and also left in the church.

Why is it customary to paint eggs for Easter? Where did this tradition come from?

In the biblical tradition it is said that Mary Magdalene gave the Roman emperor Tiberius an egg, saying the phrase: "Christ is Risen!" The monarch did not believe what was said and said that the resurrection from the dead is impossible - it is like a white egg can turn into red. And only these words sounded, the white egg turned bright red. So there was a tradition to paint Easter eggs, which exists to the present day.

Many mistresses traditionally paint eggs three days before Easter - on Pure Thursday. There are a lot of different methods. To do this, use special food colors or use juices of different vegetables to produce different colors. For example, to paint Easter eggs in light yellow or reddish-brown colors, you need to cook them in onion husks. The intensity of the color will depend on the amount of husk. Beetroot juice allows to color eggs from light pink to burgundy color. The longer the time of interaction of eggs with juice, the more intense the shade will turn out. A decoction of birch leaves is also used for coloring. With its help, eggs are stained in yellow or golden color.

Easter eggs were called "krashenki." And "pysanka" refers to those that are beautifully painted by hand.

To get different patterns on eggs without using their visual abilities, the housewives resort to various methods.

It is possible to get a pattern in speck if, before cooking in a coloring composition, roll wet eggs in dry rice and wrap them in gauze. The rice should adhere well to the egg, so the ends of the gauze should be tightly tied with a thread.

To get the effect of marble on the egg, wrap them in onion husks and tie them up with cotton material, the folds of which leave imprints on the shell.

Another interesting way of obtaining patterns on eggs is dyeing in flaps. To do this, you need to find multi-colored patches of silk fabric, which are easily shed. Wrap washed eggs with silk, then with rags, tie with string, dip into warm water and cook for 10 minutes after boiling.

To get eggs with beautiful patterns you will need an adhesive tape. We cut out from it various figures - flowers, hearts, asterisks. On cooked and dried eggs paste the resulting patterns and paint in any of the ways. After the eggs cool, you need to carefully remove the scotch. It turned out beautiful Easter eggs with patterns! Also, to obtain patterns, you can use beautiful leaves of different plants. Collect different blades of grass and flowers, tightly press them to the welded white eggs and securely fasten with nylon threads. After this, you can start painting the way convenient for you.

You can also paint eggs in two colors, dipping in turn different halves in food colors of different shades. Place the transition colors can be bandaged with a ribbon.

Many decorate already painted eggs with different stickers. It looks very interesting. There are even special films that, when exposed to hot water, tightly envelop the egg, creating the effect of "pysanka".
