General information

The Voronezh Region stretches in the central part of the East European Plain. This region is characterized by a temperate continental climate with pronounced change of seasons. Voronezh and its surroundings are a zone of forest-steppe, however its considerable area is occupied by cultural fields. Admire animals and plants in natural conditions can be in local reserves.

In the protected areas elks, roe deer, wolves, foxes, martens, hedgehogs and a huge number of birds survive successfully.

Flora and fauna

Variety of nature of the Voronezh region can be assessed beyond the reserve. Everywhere in this region there are rare and incredibly beautiful birds: the golden eagle, the bustard and the steppe eagle. Roe deer, hare, wolf or fox can be found in the usual forest or planting. In some places there are wild boars and spotted deer. Near the ponds live beavers.

If to speak about the green world of vicinities of Voronezh, borons and oak forests are of greatest interest. Noteworthy is the fact that all forests are multi-tiered. The steppes deserve attention, they are divided into cereal and mixed-grass in this region. Today, in its pristine state, the steppe areas have been preserved only in small pieces outside the reserves. The reason for this is the favorable climate of the Voronezh region, ideal for agriculture. There are also natural forage meadows, their vegetation cover usually consists of a mixture of meadow, steppe, forest, weedy and marsh plants.

Voronezh wonders

The nature of the Voronezh region boasts unique monuments erected without the help of a human being. If you move from the village of Kostenki along the channel of the Don to the south, you can see unusual chalky protrusions on the right side of the shore. The most interesting relief these hills are pleasing in the place where the river expands. Fans of unusual landscapes should visit Divnogorje. Here in our days you can see two groups of Cretaceous pillars, formed naturally by moisture and winds.
