The station was opened in August 1932. Here, observations were made of wind speed, air temperature and atmospheric pressure, cloudiness, and precipitation. All information was transmitted by radio to the Administration of the Urals Hydrometeorological Service (Sverdlovsk).

During the operation, the station was rebuilt twice (in 1965 and 1982). In May 1992, it was closed, and the premises were later transferred to the ownership of the city. Today it is based meteorological site of the Taganay park and a rescue service squad.
