Moldings for walls - competent application in the interior

Any person whose profession is not directly connected with the repair, can hardly imagine how quickly to update and change the style and mood of the premises. But in fact for this it is sometimes enough to change moldings for walls. Such a decorative element will easily transform window and door openings, decorate the joints of the surfaces of walls and ceiling, as well as the floor.

As well as several decades ago, moldings for walls combine in themselves functions of a plinth and ceiling cornices. This allows us to ensure the universality of their use. In general, this decorative element performs three tasks at once:

1. Ceiling moldings should cover and sufficiently mask uneven joints and joints. In addition, this building material is used to hide from superfluous eyes the transitions between different stylistic zones. This can be expressed in the change of colors or materials, so the presence of a binding element is mandatory.

2. Protection against the negative impact of various factors. For example, in dining rooms and living rooms, wall moldings are most in demand, which protect the surfaces from mechanical influences. Surely everyone faced such a problem when the backs of armchairs and chairs wear off the wallpaper, which does not at all improve the appearance of the room. Protective elements in this case are simply necessary to preserve the proper kind of interior.

3. Molding (stucco in the main) often performs decorative functions. This property is well known to designers around the world, in connection with which moldings have found application in many interiors. Moldings allow you to achieve various effects, but are most often used in lushly decorated interiors, for example, Empire style. There everything looks emphatically chic, even with a glance glimpses of chic and luxury.

Provided all three rules are fulfilled, the wall moldings allow to change the atmosphere of the room, due to which it will acquire new accents and colors.

Materials from which moldings are made can be very diverse - this is wood, and plaster, and plastic.

For example, molded gypsum ornaments make it possible to realize any shape due to the fact that this material has a liquid structure during the formation of the product. Such a solution fills all the voids of the mold. Consequently, even very small details can be made from it. In turn, wooden moldings are often used in classical interiors. They complement them and allow them to look expensive and simply modern. However, the cost of such design will be significantly different and directly depend on the type of wood used, as well as the way it is finished.

Moldings for plastic walls are longevity and practicality, besides they are the cheapest. Such interior design elements are not afraid of damp and warm rooms, which allows them to be used for bathroom and pool finishing.

In rare, exceptional cases, it is possible to make moldings of metal, glass or leather. This will give the interior a special chic and harmony.
