Raising Romanovian sheep

Sheep - animals are rather unpretentious and hardy. In addition, they are mobile and light, able to graze on the slopes of ravines, in the foothills, in the semi-desert, wherever cattle can not pass. The content and breeding of sheep is not difficult. It would be hay in the winter, and in the summer - pasture. In this case, expensive structures and huge costs for building will not be required.

Breeding sheep is undoubtedly profitable. Both meat and wool are in great demand. According to the productivity of animals, the animals are divided into 3 groups: fine-fleece (wool thin, down), semi-fine (wool is homogeneous, but not so thin) and coarse (for obtaining meat and sheepskin). Of the many coarse-wooled breeds, it is preferable to breed the sheep of the Romanov breed.

They are rather prolific: unlike the representatives of other breeds, bringing one lamb (maximum two), Romanovs give birth to five, or even six, and seven lambs. Breeding of sheep this breed is very profitable also because of the high procurement prices for sheepskin (for other breeds the cost is much lower).

A person who has seen a herd of sheep will not deny that these animals seem meek and defenseless. There were cases when a whole herd was carved by one wolf. Perhaps, only sheep can not stand up for themselves from all livestock. The breeding of these animals requires constant supervision. Defenselessness is explained by very weak eyesight. That is why the sheep population, which has become proverbial, is so strongly developed in sheep: where goes one, there and others. The cause of poor vision is explained by the inability to find the way home. Therefore shepherd of sheep is better with a goat, which is perfectly oriented on the terrain. On the one hand, such a developed herd does not allow individuals to get lost, and on the other hand, it significantly complicates the care of these animals.

Sheep live to 25 years. But both producers and producers are kept for eight years. The exception is animals with outstanding productivity. The only trouble is that sheep's teeth are quickly erased and it's difficult for them to chew gum (especially if they graze on sandy and stony soils). This is another plus to the opinion that the breeding of Romanovian sheep is the most profitable: females manage to leave five times more offspring than others. Their children will multiply this amount by another five.

The advantage is easy to calculate: at the age of six months the female is already ready for bearing fruits and deliveries (another advantage is early maturity). She gives birth twice a year (from two to seven, and on the average - five lambs). Thus, for a year from one female you get 10 more individuals. For five years, respectively, 50. But if you leave the female offspring for breeding, the number of goals will increase many times in the same year. Females of other breeds "bring" no more than two toddlers, and mature later. The difference is obvious. If we express these figures as a percentage, taking into account the statistics, the fertility of most rocks is 120%, and Romanov's - more than 300%. Awesome, right?

During lactation, one sheep of this breed yields up to 200 liters of milk, containing 7% (or more) fat and 6% protein. In cow, for comparison, the content is two times lower. On a well developed udder, basically two nipples, sometimes even more (such uteri, of course, are milder).

Little sheep of Romanov breed, even with moderate fattening at the age of six months, reach 40 kg, and the live weight - up to 90 kg (the queens - up to 60). Of the six hundred species of pasture plants, they are suitable for 570 (for cattle only 50), so the sheep are able to find food even in those areas where cows have already grazed. In the food are: grass, chaff, straw, hay, shrubs, bark, moss, etc.

Wool cover makes it possible to breed sheep in a wide range of climatic conditions, as these animals have an enviable adaptability to both heat and cold. During the winter, they easily tolerate a twenty-degree frost (there must be a dry litter). On the offensive, the heat is reacted by dropping the wool (molt).

The pride of domestic sheep breeding quickly gained recognition also abroad. Today, the Romanov breed is widely known all over the world for its productivity and endurance.
