We make partitions for a sanitary unit made of plasterboard

The problem with small apartments is known to almost every second citizen in our country. It is no wonder, that quite often it is necessary to go on tricks, doing modest habitation more convenient for a life. For example, you often have to face the need to install partitions for the bathroom, turning it into a separate one. What can they be made of?

Advantages of drywall

Until recently, with the word "wall" there was an association with a brick, but now this material has lost its appeal because of its incredible value. And about the convenience of erecting the capital walls on the last floor of a multi-storey building can not be said.

An excellent way out can be partitions for a bathroom of plasterboard. It is lightweight, cheap, very easy to install. You will only need to buy the material, and spend a little on the steel frame.

How is work carried out?

First, you need to determine the size of the opening, on the basis of which you cut the required number of profiles. Just note that use only the metal, as for the use of wood is strictly not recommended for the bathrooms.

Yes, the partitions for a bathroom on a wooden frame will cost less, but the wood is not too stable. It easily swells under the influence of moisture in the air. As a result, the tree grows in size, the wall "leads".

We do not need to say much about the fact that you need to constantly use the level and plummet during work, because otherwise you can expect unpleasant surprises. The profile is fixed to the walls by bolted connections. The details of the construction are connected with each other by 25 mm self-tapping screws.

So, after installing the profile, you can proceed to cutting gypsum board. On the frame it is fastened using all the same screws. First you need to install it on one side, constantly monitoring the process using a level.

Note that the installation of the second side of the pier without filling the gap between the two sheets with a layer of thermal insulation is not very justified, since in this case the partitions for the bathroom are transformed into a kind of drum. Given that the room is very intimate, such an effect must be avoided with all the forces.

Other options

Do not assume that the pier can only be made of plasterboard, since plastic partitions for bathrooms will perform their functions just as well. Do them better on the same steel frame, screwing on them PVC panels. The space between the two layers should also be filled with thermal insulation.

In addition, between them often pass pipes of hot and cold water supply, which would otherwise spoil the interior of the premises. Note that they will have to be wrapped in a layer of thermal insulation, since otherwise a huge amount of condensate will form.

Where else can they be needed?

It should not be considered that only partitions for bathrooms can be needed in capital apartments. Toilet cabins, which are installed in the cottages, also require isolation from prying eyes. A simple gypsum board construction is ideal for such purposes.
