Modern fables: wisdom, accumulated over the years, in a new interpretation

Modern fables, as a rule, do not differ much from those that were presented to readers many centuries ago. This trend in literature arose a long time ago, but its essence has always been to educate a person, to direct his thoughts in the right direction. One can not help but note a certain philosophical meaning in many fictional works. However, the basis of any such creativity was a work of art.

Past wisdom in modern processing

Modern fables are based on past motives. If you consider, for example, Aesop, who is considered the founder of all the fables, you can see that in his work there are the same notes. Every modern writer of his time tried to change the old meaning to a new one, more suitable for people, but at the same time his content remained unchanged. So, Krylov offered his readers a fable of Aesop, but in a poetic form. And also he changed their essence a little to ridicule a certain negative quality, widespread among the inhabitants of that reality.

A new concept in modern fables

Modern fables, unlike classical ones, despite the fact that they are too similar, still have one, but significant difference. It consists in the fact that present writers use in their works such a notion as human society in general and an individual in particular. Previously, it was not customary to use people in fables, because they appeared in a negative color. Today's society is more democratic in reading literature, it can laugh at itself. If previously some particular traits were ridiculed, they were usually depicted in the form of certain animals, today the meaning can be more clearly understood. In principle, you can even abandon morality at the end of the work, because it is clear, like a day.

The use of the natural world in modern fables

If modern fables contain animals or insects, they, as a rule, are not isolated from society. In most cases, their meaning, as well as the presence in the work, should be taken literally, not to search for certain author's allegories. However, cases where both animal and human worlds are used are not uncommon. This is often necessary in order to create some kind of comic effect, to show how much nature differs from people.

The irony in modern fables

Recently, the fables of contemporary authors have acquired yet another distinguishing feature. Previously, it was impossible to distort the meaning of a good beginning, the ultimate victory over evil. Today, the borders have become so blurred that writers can use irony in their works. Proceeding from this, it is easy to explain the fact that in modern fable art there are works that have nothing to do with teaching. On the contrary, they are odes to fools, thieves or, for example, dishonest politicians. But the essence is clear, because to understand satire is sometimes much easier than the thoughts of great philosophers or scientists.

Examples of authors and the works themselves

It should be a little more specific and say about who is currently engaged in writing fables. For the most part, these people are not at all professional authors - they just pour on paper what has accumulated over a certain time, giving it a sense and irony. Consequently, the bulk of modern fabulists remain unknown, and works are distributed through the Internet. As an example, you can cite such fables as "One Georgian Fable", "The Bear on the Rails" and others. But there are well-known authors, like Olesya Emelyanova or Pavel Rupasov. They enriched modern literature with works such as "Hare legacy", "Goat and Nightingale" and others.

In short, modern fables with morals contain the same meaning as several centuries ago, but with the addition of some elements that were dictated by time. These new qualities and details, in fact, reflect contemporary literary art. The authors simply interpret the past thoughts of great and intelligent people so that they are understandable to the modern reader.
