How to tie a swivel to the line. Nodes description

The swivel is the primary element of fishing tackle. Its main purpose is to prevent twisting of the line when the bait is working. It protects it from hooks and tears. To increase the life of the gear, every fisherman needs to know how to tie a swivel to the line.

Almost at any method of catching, swivels are used to install the bait and rigging. The right swivel rotates effortlessly around its axis in both directions, without twisting the tackle.

Varieties

Swivels are made of high-strength steel that does not corrode. They vary in size, design and strength, but have the same basic function: to prevent twisting of the line.

The smallest swivels can hold a load of up to 1 kg, averages up to 20 kg, and large ones up to 100 kg.

The device is considered qualitative if it is perfectly polished, easily and quickly rotates around the axis.

Where to use?

Going on fishing, fishermen with experience in advance prepare several gears, where the swivels have different sizes and designs:

  • In the float fishing tackle, the main and fishing lines are connected by one double swivel;
  • Without a float on the bait, two fastenings are made: the main tackle is combined with the sinker and the leash;
  • When fishing for fry of predatory fish, two swivels are needed: one connects the leash to the live bait, the other - to the float;
  • On the "path" involves using a triple swivel, so that the light bait could sink into the pond.

In the rigging of the fishing rod, the swivel is a significant element, and for certain techniques, catching is the main element. Movable attachments improve the quality of the line to 40%, if you understand how to tie a swivel to the line.

Factors that affect catch:

  • The amount of the mobile device;
  • Feature of the work;
  • Reliability of the node;
  • Ease of tying.

How to tie a swivel to the line?

Because of how tightly connected the mobile device with fishing line or other fishing tackle, the technique of fishing depends. There are many different ways to do this, using special nodes:

  • "clinch";
  • "Palomar";
  • "Greenwich";
  • "eight";
  • "executioner";
  • "Jensic".

These most popular and quality nodes are easy to use. When knitting any of them, you must wet the material before tightening.

"Clinch"

The knot is simple and reliable, ideal for monofilament. On a large diameter fishing line, it is undesirable to use it - it can untie. How to tie a swivel to the line? The sequence of actions is as follows:

  • In the ear swivel insert fishing line;
  • Extend the end by 10 cm;
  • Leaving a small loop, wrap the end 8 times around the tackle;
  • End the line in a loop near the swivel hood and pull it into the loop that formed when the fishing line was returned to the small loop;
  • Knot to pull off.

Palomar

Universal technology allows you to tie this knot on the line, monofilament and braided cord:

  • Cut the line doubly;
  • Loop, which was received, pull in the ear swivel;
  • Tie a simple knot with the bent end;
  • On top of the loop put on the swivel;
  • Tighten the knot, trim the ends.

Who knows how to knit a swivel to the line with the "Palomar" knot, constantly uses it.

"Greenner"

Very solid and stable knot. In addition to attaching a swivel it is used to tie lures, leashes and various baits:

  • The working end of the line should be pushed through the eyelet and pulled out by 15 cm;
  • Send it along the main line;
  • 5 cm from the swivel, turn it back to the ear, making a noose;
  • Round the double line to wrap 5 turns;
  • Knot to pull.

"Eight"

The connection by this node turns out to be reliable, strong. When tying, the line does not deform. The connection never wanes when used.
If necessary, the node is easily untied. The technique of tying is simple:

  • Twist the fishing line twice to form a loop;
  • The ends of the loop at the base are laid one on top of the other. The lower part is led to the top, forming a figure-eight;
  • Put the ends into the noose. The result is a node-eight;
  • To pull the knot, to cut off the ends.

Knot of the Executioner

A strong and simple knot is tied as follows:

  • The end of the line, the length of which is 15 cm, insert into the hole of the swivel;
  • To direct it along the main line, having received a noose around the hole swivel;
  • Return the end of the fishing line back, making a large loop;
  • A double part of a large loop to wind the seven coils;
  • Cut the fishing line through the loop near the eyelet of the swivel and tighten.

Jensic

A simple node that has been used for a long time. It can be performed by any novice angler, if he understands how to tie the swivel to the line:

  • Part of the line in 15 cm into the hole swivel;
  • Make a noose around the eyelet and once again yank into it;
  • Form a second loop of the same size as the first one. The working end of the line is again inserted into the eyelet;
  • When forming the third loop, the end of the line should be wrapped 3 times around the loops;
  • Tighten the assembly.

How to tie a swivel to the wattle?

Attach the swivel to the wattled line with the help of several known knots.

Consider how to do this with the help of a strengthened node "clinch":

  • The working end of the line is pulled into the eyelet, leaving 15 cm;
  • Cut the line doubly;
  • Seven times the end near the main line;
  • Extend it into the received loop;
  • Again pull the end of the line in a large loop that just turned out;
  • Wetted knot.

The drawback of this method is that it is not suitable for thick woods and is used for swivels with a medium-sized eyelet made of fine wire.

The popular knot "palomar" is irreproachably suitable for tying the braid lines to the swivel. It does not untie, if necessary, it is cut or torn. How to properly tie a swivel knot "Palomar", was discussed above.

The variety of methods of tying the line to a swivel is great. It is not necessary to know and be able to tie in each of them. It is enough to choose a few reliable and uncomplicated in the performance, so that fishing is always happy with luck.
