Olga Belyakova: biography, photo

For a long time, not a rookie in the international arena is an athlete from the city of Rybinsk, Olga Belyakova. She was born in an ordinary completely unhealthy family, but managed to achieve the title of three-time champion of Russia. Among a number of deserved awards it is especially worth highlighting the complete set received at the 2014 Olympics - bronze, silver, gold. Bronze brought her a distance of three thousand meters, on the first day of the competition, Olga immediately took gold at a distance of one and a half thousand, and following the results of the race in a thousand meters, the athlete was awarded silver.

Biography

Belyakova Olga Vladimirovna was born on September 26, 1988. Already at the age of 10 she first came out on the ice in Rybinsk. In the fifth grade in school number 5, where she studied, came the coach Starostina Marina. All comers were invited to sign up for lessons on the short track. Interested in many, but subsequently most of them were eliminated, as a result, only Olga and her sister remained, but soon she left too.

Olga Belyakova continued to train hard and already in 2007 she was included in the Russian national team.

What is a short track

In this interesting sport, not always the strongest and hardiest wins, often the primacy is given to the one who is more resourceful. You need to be able to correctly distribute the forces, take the right position, overtake in the right place, often all decide only a fraction of a second.

And of course, as in any sport, luck is important here, when an unexpected collision with an opponent's ridge occurs, the speed is lost, and with it the chances of winning.

Often, the short track is associated with car racing, the same turns, overtaking, going from the distance, although the speed is less - about 60 km / h - but this is enough to get serious injuries.

Therefore, in competitions and serious training, an additional layer of mats is screwed to the sides, or these boards are removed altogether.

Beginning of the sports way

Olga Belyakova did not immediately join the national team and began to win seats in international competitions. At first it was just a hobby. Children skated, played catch-up, learned to deftly maneuver. Later competitions began, but here the girl was often ahead of her comrades.

One of the big pluses of Olga is her positive: she never gave up, losing was perceived calmly and persistently went to the intended goal. Training was a lot, they were alternated trips to sports camps, strict regime, a lot of sports, sleep, dinner and again sports. "It's very difficult and still happens, I want to leave training," Olga Belyakova tells about her life.

Photos of the girl clearly show her high level of preparation. As early as 2010 in Vancouver, she was not so sure. But after the end of the Olympiad, tight communication with its competitors and idol Ekaterina Roiter, came the experience, and with it a serious spirit of struggle.

Forward to a new goal

"Sport will always remain a sport: these are victories and losses, but now I have an excellent incentive not to drop my hands and move on," says Olga Belyakova. Today she is one of the outstanding representatives of the national team of the short track, but, she said, she is thinking about skating. Both of these sports are supported by one organization and the president of the union Alexei Kravtsov agrees with this position of the athlete.
