Cinematography has always been famous for touching on all the most important events in human history. Some of them were joyful, while others were remembered more like tragedies. In particular, this refers to wars. In the history of mankind, many major battles have taken place, in which peaceful people died. Young soldiers were forced to leave their homes and go to the front. Far from everyone in the end managed to get back unharmed. One of the last serious wars affecting our country is considered to be the Afghan one. The Soviet Union introduced its troops into this country, in the hope of once and for all to put an end to the numerous deaths and battles taking place on the territory of Afghanistan. As a result, many of our soldiers died there.

Great military militants were shot about Afghanistan, fully revealing the topic. These films allow you to experience the atmosphere of those times, as well as learn some important details about that war. In this article, we will discuss the best fighters about Afghanistan. Mostly it will be Soviet and Russian films about that infamous war. But for the sake of diversity, we also included several foreign works.

The best fighters about the war in Afghanistan

As we already noted above, a lot of films were shot for this kind of plan. However, not all of them eventually turned out to be really qualitative. Especially for you, we tried to select only high-quality films that are definitely worthy of attention.

"Kandahar" (film of 2009)

The action of this Russian feature film takes place in 1995. In the center of the plot is a cargo plane carrying Russian pilots on board, as well as workers who certainly did not plan to stay in Afghanistan. But they were not lucky. The plane was seized forcibly, as a result of which all the crew were taken prisoner. It happened in Kandahar, the capital of terrorism.

Ahead of the main characters will be waiting for extremely difficult tests. Will they be able to take matters into their own hands and be saved until it's too late? And what are the actual targets of the attackers? "Kandahar" (2009 film) is recommended for viewing by both viewers and critics.

"9 Rota"

Fyodor Bondarchuk is a man who decided to follow in the footsteps of his father and become a filmmaker. And I must say, he did it perfectly. Like Sergei, he decided to start his way with a military drama. Fedor obviously did not fail, because the movie "9th company" (2005) was extremely warmly received by Russian spectators. The film has everything to keep in suspense from the beginning to the end. And Bondarchuk, among other things, also played one of the main roles.

The film takes place in a difficult time for the country. Many young people who were not fortunate enough to join the army will soon be faced with a dangerous journey to Afghanistan, where a bloody war has been going on for a long time. In the center of the story is a group of young guys. Yesterday they were just ordinary students. But now they have to take up arms and pass the most severe school of life from all possible. Can they survive in a hot spot and return home alive?

"Rambo 3"

As already mentioned above, noteworthy are not only domestic militants about Afghanistan. The third part of one of the most popular military films turned out to be truly grandiose. Sylvester Stallone, being at the peak of his acting career, once again was able to translate onto the big screen the image of war veteran John Rambo, who repeatedly got into extremely difficult situations.

The action takes place some time after the end of the second part. John was tired of constant battles and tried to find peace. For this, he left his native America and went on a long journey. Fate leads him to a Buddhist monastery, where he finally finds harmony with the surrounding world. But this did not last long.

His former commander, to whom John owes much, is taken prisoner. Thus, the main character is forced to go alone to the very heart of Afghanistan, where a bloody war is still going on. Will he succeed in saving the commander and surviving in a country unfamiliar to him?

"Gorge of Spirits"

The feature film of Sergei Nilov is far from the most famous Russian film director. "Gorge of Spirits" (1991) - a film that passed by the mass spectator. However, it definitely deserves attention. Action film is unfolding at the very end of the war in Afghanistan. In the center of the plot is a detachment under the command of an experienced military man. They are to conduct the last important operation. Along the way, they are trying to understand the essence of this war.

"Special forces team"

If we talk about what films are most successful about Afghanistan, we can not ignore the "Special Task Force". The main character of this picture is a French journalist. She is young and active. The girl is full of confidence that soon she will finally manage to create a sensational material that will allow her to become famous. But instead she gets into a whole series of troubles. The journalist was kidnapped in Afghanistan by the Taliban. So in front of her will be waiting for a real nightmare.

Attackers do not know what mercy is. But what exactly are they pursuing? As a result, they expose their conditions to the French government. Those, in turn, refuse to go with the terrorists. Instead, it was decided to assemble a special task force. His task will be to search for and release the hostage. The military will be forced to fight on the territory of their enemy, which will have a clear advantage. Will they be able to release the journalist and stay alive?

"The Afghan break"

The events described in the film "The Afghan Break" (1991) occurred on the eve of how the Soviet troops would be withdrawn from Afghanistan. But now the battles are still going on. Some believe that worry about the fate of soldiers is no longer worth it. But as it were not so. The war is not over yet. A decisive battle awaits the military, the outcome of which will depend on their lives.

In the center of the plot is a detachment of paratroopers, run by an experienced major who passed through the war. He lost many people who fell in battle. All those who managed to stay alive will undoubtedly become the heroes of their country. But on the very last day before the withdrawal of troops from the country, a young soldier enters his squad, who is the son of a high-ranking employee. Everyone, without exception, perfectly understands the reason for his appearance. Thus, he wants to get all kinds of rewards in a fast and without risks to his life. However, everything is not so easy as he would have liked ...

"Survivor"

American military militants about Afghanistan are also worthy of attention. "Survivor" - one of the most successful, released on the screens relatively recently. He was removed by the talented filmmaker Peter Berg, who in recent years has become the leading Hollywood filmmaker. With him invariably cooperates eminent actor Mark Wahlberg. In this case, he again got the main role, with which he coped simply amazing.

In the center of the plot is a detachment of US military. In 2005, they were instructed to go to Afghanistan. And to this day there are large terrorist groups, consisting of Taliban. These people are not afraid of death and regularly commit criminal acts. The government wants members of the detachment, which includes exclusively experienced military personnel, to eliminate the leader of the intruders. So they want to end the grouping once and for all. That's just the mission is not the way the military would have liked. The main characters fall into a trap, getting out of it will be incredibly difficult. A bloody battle begins. Can anyone survive in such a monstrous situation?
