Kia Sephia - car review

Issue Kia Sephia is established on the basis of the Mazda 323 beloved by many in the nineties of the last century. In this regard, Korean and Japanese cars can even be called brothers. An attractive solid sedan with a displacement of 1.6 liters. Managed to conquer the audience with his stylish design and good build quality. Salon as a whole can be described as practical. It is elegant, functional and very space-saving, the luggage compartment is comfortable and also has good capacity.

A few years later, a new round in the life of Kia Sephia began. 1997 was the starting point for the second generation of the model. In addition to the sedan, Sephia became available in the body of the hatchback, a new 1.8-liter engine with 112 horsepower, airbags, ABS, improved ergonomics of the driver's seat, the interior became more thoughtful, convenient and safe.

In 2001, another modernization took place, which resulted in the basic configuration of steel adjustment and power steering, air conditioning, central locking, power windows. Also in the line of motors there was a new two-liter petrol unit. The appearance of the new Kia Sephia has become a little amorphous, the rear wings are somewhat like the Lancer, and the lights are Ford Mondeo.

And what's inside? The salon is made in gray soft plastic of good quality, the instruments are well read, all the necessary functionality of the buttons is at hand - everything is familiar and convenient. The designers moved lock locks to the latch drive lever, now they do not have to drag on. The shift lever is set short, the handbrake, on the contrary, is slightly upward. This is not very convenient, because it interferes with the work with the box. Pedals are soft, their course is coordinated with the driver's landing. No complaints about the size of the sites for them. With the increase in wheelbase, the back seat has become much larger. Now the knees of passengers do not rest on the backs of the front seats, and an additional 25 mm in height allow you to sit comfortably even with solid growth.

General impressions of the Kia Sephia salon are positive. Especially I liked the fact that the hood and windshield have a big slope - it's convenient for estimating the overall dimensions. Everything is located conveniently and close, but at the same time is not superimposed on each other. The car has good visibility and enough free space in the cabin.

But on the move some flaws began to be felt. In the snow, the Kia Sephia pretty much surrenders in controllability (perhaps due to inappropriate rubber). It's quite another thing on the asphalt - the car behaves perfectly, the load at the turns is redistributed confidently. Pleased and the dynamics of the car - it is in no way inferior to the more eminent Skoda. Well-chosen effort on the brake pedal, its increase occurs in a gradual progression. ABS works rarely, as a rule, the brake alone manages to fully work out the deceleration.

What can you say about Kia Sephia in general? Reviews of car owners indicate that the car turned out really good. Yes, there are minor flaws, there is a lack of a good stereo system, otherwise the machine is a good solution for busy urban life.
