How to wall plasterboard: the secrets of repair their own hands

The wall covering with gypsum cardboard is by far the most affordable and quickest way to improve the heat and sound insulation properties in the room and successfully hide communications (pipes, wiring, etc.) that, with their unpresentability, only spoil the interior. It is worth noting that with such work it is quite possible to manage independently, without the help of professionals. And after reading our recommendations, you will certainly succeed.

Before you start, make sure that you have everything you need, namely:

1. Drywall sheets, metal profiles, dowels, self-tapping screws.

2. Electric jigsaw or knife for cutting gypsum board.

3. Building cord, plumb line, level, stern thread.

4. Pencil, marker or chalk for marking.

5. Screwdriver.

6. Punch.

7. Scissors cutting metal.

How to paint walls with plasterboard: we make markings

The marking of the walls is made using a plumb line or a building level. This is a necessary stage before the skin, which will allow to determine the protruding parts of the surface. In the places you find, place the marks on the floor. In order to get a smooth wall as a result, draw a straight line between the two most prominent elevations. The second line should be run in parallel with the first, and at a distance of 5 mm plus the width of the metal profile (U-shaped). It is on this line that you have to fix the profile. Using a plumb line, transfer the second line to the ceiling.

How to wall plasterboard: mount a metal profile

Cut the profiles to the required length, and then attach them to the walls. Fastening, as a rule, is carried out by dowels and "yellow" screws (for fast installation) which are sold in the complete set. But to adobe and wooden walls, the metal profile can be mounted with the usual "black" screws.

In the profile, holes of 7 mm in diameter are drilled every 50 cm. Attach the profile to the wall so that its front part is just on the line that you previously marked out. With a pencil or marker, draw the outline of the holes that you drilled. Drill a hole in the wall with a drill or drill. Fix the profile to the wall with screws, dowels or screws.

How to wall plasterboard: mount the main frame

For the main frame we use the profile "C" -shaped, which must certainly be present in places of niches, window and door apertures, at the joints of plasterboard sheets.

With a standard sheet width (1.2 m), one profile should be set between each pair of docking. If you make a distance of 60 cm between the profiles, it is desirable to sheathe the wall in two layers of plasterboard, and if 40 cm - then you can do without the second layer.

Mounted "C" -shaped profile to "U" -shaped by means of screws, but not strictly perpendicular, but slightly obliquely.

The frame is recommended to be done step by step, that is, for every 1-2 sheets, after which we fix the drywall and make the frame further. In this case, it is possible to avoid reworking due to the measurement error.

Installation of drywall on walls

After all that you have already done, this stage will seem the simplest. Place the sheet vertically and screw it to the frame. It is best to do this not alone, but at least a couple of friends. Even if you screw drywall in only 2-3 places, this will be enough to ensure that the sheet you have not gone anywhere and stayed firmly. We fasten the screws with a screwdriver or a drill with a nozzle.

To the size you need, you can cut the sheets with a jigsaw or a knife, and the use of the latter guarantees much less dust.

How to wall plasterboard: shpatluem

Plasterboard sheets are shpatlyem either only on samorezam and joints, or all-around. It is preferable, according to professionals, the second option, because today it is difficult to find and buy high-quality drywall from Germany. Longitudinal joints are recommended to be covered with reinforcing mesh - a sickle.
