How to quickly and easily make poppy seeds from satin ribbons: step by step instructions

Mac from satin ribbons is an universal element. It is used for a variety of decorative purposes: decorate clothes, make accessories, apply for decoration of gift packages, as well as to create interior bouquets.

There are quite a few techniques that make it possible to make a bulk poppy from a satin ribbon. The master class, described below, tells how you can get a beautiful flower, having at its disposal a very inexpensive material and beads.

What fabric to choose

From the fabric with satin shine, the most interesting and attractive flowers are obtained, but any other matter can be used. Looks good crafts made of organza, simple and pleated chiffon or even tweed. However, it should be borne in mind that with transparent fabrics it is more difficult to work: small parts are scattered literally in hands. This happens because the interlacing of their threads is very loose.

As for the tweed and other neglected fabrics, the flowers from them turn out to be rather peculiar and specific. In addition, if the material contains natural fibers, they will not melt when exposed to fire. This means that the petals will have to be processed in a different way. Alternatively, you can impregnate them with a solution of starch, sugar or gelatin, glue PVA. Naturally, to cut out details from a similar fabric it is necessary extremely carefully, after all any flaws will be appreciable.

What to prepare for work

If nevertheless it is decided to make poppies from satin ribbons, ribbons with a width of not less than five centimeters are best.

Also take care of the availability of all tools and auxiliary materials:

1. Sharp scissors.
2. Tweezers.
3. Candle and matches.
4. Ruler or centimeter tape.
5. Thick paper.
6. A needle with a thread or a glue gun (the latter is better).
7. Beads are black (preferably glass, as plastic can visually reduce the cost of the product).
8. The basis for fastening the poppy (stem, barrette, hoop or something else).

First of all, you need to cut out the entire set of petals (15 pieces), from which the flower will be collected. To do this, you need a template, or rather, several templates of different sizes.

The finished template is applied to the tape from the wrong side and circled with chalk or silt with a sharp edge.

Processing details with fire

To prevent shedding of edges, each petal should be heat treated. So almost all flowers are made from tapes, poppies are no exception. At this stage, use tweezers or narrow pliers.

The nuance is that the fabric should not be set on fire, only bring it to the fire and wait until the edge melts a little. So only artificial materials behave, natural fabrics begin to smolder and burn. This is already ugly and completely unaesthetic.

When the tape is melted, it is slightly curled, which is very much in the hands of skilled workers. This method allows you to give the petals quite a naturalistic look.

Collect the flower

For assembly, it is easiest to use an adhesive gun and a silicone adhesive. If this good does not have a master, the elements can be simply sewn.

Mac from satin ribbons consists of three tiers, each of which contains five petals of the same size. The lower layer will be composed of the largest parts, the second - from the middle, the latter form small petals. Gluing or stitching parts, they are stacked on top of each other.

At the last stage, you should draw the middle of the poppy. To do this, put a large drop of hot silicone glue in his center and quickly put glass beads in the right order.

To keep the beads firmly, each of them must lie in its own groove of glue. But the silicone should not be too much, otherwise the poppy from the ribbon with its own hands will have an untidy look.

That's all, it remains only to attach the finished flower to the selected base. As a rule, a fragment of satin ribbon is used for this. The edges are processed with a candle, then between this part and the wrong side of the poppy, place a hair clip or a hoop and fix it with glue.

If the flower is planned to be used in a bouquet, the foundation is fastened before gluing the beads. The stalk is decorated with corrugated paper or thread, and then pushing the end through all the layers to the center. Here make a flat loop and fix everything with glue. Later decorate with beads.
