How to put kvass in home conditions

Summer is, perhaps, the most favorite time of the year for most people, but sometimes it is too hot during this period. I want to stand under a cool shower, something to drink and, preferably, not too warm. The best drink that really can quench your thirst is kvass. Moreover, it perfectly restores strength, relieves fatigue, normalizes metabolic processes. Kvass has a beneficial effect on the activity of the gastrointestinal tract, relieves dysbiosis and is useful for the cardiovascular system.

Today in stores you can buy some kind of kvass, it's nothing more than ordinary soda, stuffed with flavors, stabilizers, dyes and other food additives. Many have already begun to forget the taste of that kvass, which in the Soviet era was sold by aunties, pouring it into glass mugs from a large yellow barrel with a tap. But not all is lost, because cooking kvass at home has not been forgotten.

This diet drink has bactericidal properties and contains a lot of useful substances: it's proteins, lactic acid, and many other components. Kvass has many kinds: rye, barley, malt, honey, strawberries, cinnamon, mint, etc., are added to it. And now we will give some recipes, how to put kvass, so that you can enjoy the real taste of this magic drink.

Recipe number 1. You will need the following products: 1 kilogram of rye bread; 200 grams of sugar; 8-10 liters of water; 25 grams of yeast; Raisins (at the rate of 5 berries per three-liter bottle); A handful of dry mint. Before you put kvass, you will need to dry the bread in the oven, which then should be cut into thin slices beforehand. But do not overdo it, it should only lightly brown, and not burn. After this, fold the resulting crumbs into a large container (or in a few smaller saucepans) and fill with boiling water. This should all be infused for about 3-4 hours.

The next step in the way, how to put kvass, will be adding to the received infusion of yeast, mint and sugar. You can pour a little cinnamon, this will give the drink a special flavor, and the burnt sugar will make kvas more saturated color. Next, cover the container with gauze, put it in a warm place for 6 hours for fermentation. When, after the specified time, the infusion begins to foam, it must be filtered through a layer of gauze folded in several layers and poured over pre-cooked 3 liter cans. In each of them put 5 washed and dried raisins. Infuse the drink for 2-3 days, after which you can begin to enjoy its wonderful aroma and taste.

Recipe number 2 will tell you how to put kvass without the use of yeast. To do this, you need a loaf of black unleavened bread, which should be cut into pieces and fried in a pan so that it is slightly burnt. Next, pour these rusks with ten liters of warm water and pour sugar there to taste, but focusing on one glass. We put again in a warm place for three days, after which we filter and dispense. However, do not rush out the rusks from the crackers: bring it back to the bowl, add a little more toasted bread and sugar to it, and refill with water. Put the infusion. This procedure, how to supply kvas without yeast, can be done several times, periodically adding bread and sugar. Each subsequent infusion will be even more intense and tasty, especially in a cold form.

Thanks to these simple recipes you can do kvass as often as you want. And finally, a small warning: in kvass can contain from 0.5% to 2.5% alcohol. It depends on the composition of the drink. For this reason, it is better not to give kvass to young children. And if you drank too much (more than one and a half liters), then you can not sit behind the wheel: although you are not intoxicated, but the tube into which you will blow at the traffic police post will necessarily show the opposite.
