How to grow honey mushrooms in the country? Technology of growing fungi from mycelium

Many mushroom lovers try to grow honey agarics at home. Not everyone succeeds. So, how to grow honey mushrooms in the country? It is recommended to start the landing with the choice of the place and its preparation. Grow such mushrooms best on dead wood. However, if desired, you can use a special substrate.

Why honey agarics

Honey mushrooms are quite tasty mushrooms that can be grown not only in the cottage area, but also on the balcony. The main thing is to observe the technology of germination and planting. Such mushrooms have a tender and fragrant flesh. Honey mushrooms are often used for soups, roasts and various sauces. After all, the product retains its unique flavor even after heat treatment.

In addition, growing up is an activity that can bring a good income. In Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany quite often are engaged in such a business. However, in these countries a special paste is used as a planting stock. To buy such a substance in our stores is still not possible.

Where to grow in the garden

Since it is not so easy to grow honey mushrooms in a dacha, it is worthwhile to prepare a place in advance. For germination, stumps from old fruit trees or damp chocks that lie under a pile of firewood and are in contact with the earth are ideal.

If there is nothing suitable on the site, then rotten, rotten boards will do. Also, some summer residents practice growing shrubs on sawdust.

Selection of material for planting

Growing snow on the stumps is a simple, but long process. The main thing is to choose the right type of wood. The best summer agaric sprouts grow on birch stumps. Even after cutting, this material retains a large amount of moisture. In this case, the dense crust protects the wood from drying out.

If the mushrooms are planted in the garden, then it is worth using stumps of old pears and apple trees for this purpose. Also, honey fungus grows on alder, aspen and poplar chocks. It should be noted that mushrooms are able in 6 years to destroy any stump.

Do not use pine and spruce for growing this species of mushrooms.

Preparation and landing

How to grow honey mushrooms in the country? To begin with, it is necessary to infect the old stump with mushroom spores. It is not difficult. This requires the hats of adult mushrooms. They must be laid down with plates on a blank sheet of paper. Of the hats should spill out spores. They look like dark dust. Spores should be poured into a bottle of water and shaken well.

Also it is necessary to prepare in advance and the stump itself. From it is worth to saw off the log, the thickness of which should be from 3 to 5 centimeters. After that, the top of the stump must be cut crosswise. This can be done with the help of an ax. The more cracks are formed, the better.

Now it remains to infect the stump with spores. This is done quite simply. It is necessary to water the prepared wood with water, in which there are spores of snow. After that, it is necessary to nail the logs on top, which was sawn off the stump.

If the weather is dry, it is recommended that you regularly water the wood contaminated with spores. Otherwise, honey agarics will not germinate.

Sprouting in bags

Since it is not everyone's ability to grow honey in the dacha, it is worthwhile to think about their germination in the greenhouse. To do this, put half-rotten pieces of wood in the corner of the structure. They also need to be poured with water, which contains controversy. After a while, the wood should be placed in bags and placed in a dark place in the woodpile. In spring, the ends, as well as those places where the bark was damaged, should be covered with a mycelium. The material is ready for planting.

How to grow honey mushrooms in mycelium dacha

The wood on which the mycelium has appeared should be placed in the place where the landing is planned. It must be well protected from wind and direct sunlight. In this way, winter and summer are sprouted. The mycelium of the fungus must penetrate into the soil. From there, it will receive additional moisture. Therefore, it is recommended that chukes with mycelium be dug into the soil for 2/3 of the height. The distance between pieces of wood should be from 10 to 15 centimeters.

To have a winter or summer frost, it is necessary to water chocks regularly. This is especially true in dry and hot weather. To water the workpieces is recommended for 5 minutes once per hour. At the same time, moisten the wood from 12 to 17 hours a day. By night, the chocks should dry well.

Way the third

To grow honey agarics on the site, it is necessary to collect the mature mushroom hats. They are recommended to be placed in a container and filled with water. Hats should stand for several days. After that, the water from the tank should be drained and filtered. The resulting infusion should be impregnated with pre-prepared pieces of wood or stumps. In addition, the surface of the material can be laid ripened hats drunk. Two days later they can be removed.

It is worth noting that this method is not suitable for everyone, since the germination process proceeds very slowly. The first harvest of snowball, planted by this method, can only be obtained by the end of the next season.

Sprouting mycelium

There is also a less laborious way of germinating sprouts. This will require not only rotten stumps or chocks, but also mycelium. The growth of summer snowflakes is more intensive. You can find mycelium in the forest. This should be done in early June. Only the part where the active growth of mycelium is marked should be taken. Typically, in such places you can see a large number of threads that have a cream or white hue. In addition, there must be a strong smell of mushrooms. Collect mycelium standing with pieces of wood.

Such blanks should be placed in notches on logs or stumps. To the mycelium not to perish, it is recommended to cover the planting site with shingles, moss or bark. For better germination, a stump or a log is covered with a film. This method allows you to get the first harvest of mushrooms by the beginning of the next season. It is best to infect the wood with a summer canopy in autumn or early summer.

Peculiarities of growing

The technology of growing furs in the country is quite simple. However, there are some peculiarities. Such mushrooms should be covered with air-permeable material. At desire it is possible to bring down a loose box from boards, an agril, a croaker. Also, for this purpose, burlap or paper is suitable.

If stumps are left from a freshly chopped tree, they do not need to be further processed. You can immediately begin to infect them with spores. If the upper part of the stump has dried, then it must be soaked. For this, the wood is regularly watered for several days. Disperses only after the material has collected enough moisture.

The first mushrooms with the correct landing should appear already in June. The harvest is collected, as a rule, until September. However, it should be noted that there will be few mushrooms in the first year. The yield of fruit is largely dependent on the degree of growth of mycelium, the quality of wood and weather conditions. In the second year the number of fungi can increase 4 times.

If honey-mushrooms are planted in the garden, then it is worth choosing a darkened place, where the sun's rays do not penetrate. If the stump is not in the shade, then it is recommended to cover it. You can use hay or straw for this.
