It is advisable to take two-year-old seedlings for planting. They have the most developed root system. Before planting it is necessary to ensure that the roots are constantly in a wet condition. To do this, together with a small amount of damp earth, they must be wrapped in polyethylene film.

The optimal time for planting is from the middle of September to the first ten days of October. Wet and acid soils are not recommended for black currant.

When planting a seedling, certain requirements must be observed. It needs to be planted a bit deeper and inclined, so that some branches come into the ground. Of the kidneys that have fallen under the ground, young shoots will go, and the bush will be more voluminous. Next year one or two branches can be bent and buried with earth. The bush will be even more branched. Around the pit after landing make small earthen edges. This is to ensure that the water does not spread during irrigation. And you need to water abundantly, about one bucket of water for one sapling. After absorbing water, moist soil from above should be sprinkled with dry soil to reduce evaporation. In the fall, you can do with one watering, but in dry weather it must be repeated. And in the spring two or three watering must be done without fail. If all the requirements are met, you can expect a good harvest not only for one year, but for several years to come.
