Meat is one of the integral products of our diet, which we use regularly. It contains many useful substances needed by the human body. I would like to present a few recipes for cooking lamb, namely the mutton leg.

How to bake a lamb leg in the oven - prescription number 1

Composition:

  • Sunflower oil - 4 tablespoons;
  • leg of lamb;
  • greenery;
  • A lemon - 1 piece;
  • Pepper, salt;
  • Potatoes - 1-2 kg.

First you need to wash the leg with lamb in water and remove excess fat from it. Then pour in a bowl of sunflower oil. Chop the finely greens, squeeze the juice out of the lemon and add to the butter. Then sprinkle all the salt, pepper and mix thoroughly. It should be noted that the vegetable oil is able to extract from the green all the essential oils, thanks to which the dishes are so fragrant.

Now it is necessary to grate lamb with the prepared mixture so that it is thoroughly soaked with herbs, salt and pepper. After that, the leg should be wrapped in foil, so that it fits snugly, and placed in the refrigerator for about a day. In the process of marinating, lamb is soaked not only with the aroma of greenery, but will also be soft and tender in taste.

At the end of the day, when the lamb's leg is well-missed, it is necessary to remove it from the refrigerator and wait for it to become room temperature. Only then remove it from the foil. Now you need to heat the oven to 215 degrees, while placing a tray of water, which will help the meat not dry out during cooking. Lamb leg should be placed on a grate, located in the middle of the oven. Fat, which at the beginning of cooking was cut from the foot, it is necessary to lay meat on all sides.

The amount of potatoes depends on the weight of the leg of the sheep. It should be cleaned and cut into slices, then placed on a baking tray. Also it should be noted that if the leg is small, you should boil the potatoes for 4-6 minutes before putting it on the baking tray.

After 16 minutes of mutton baking, you need to turn your leg, then turn again after another 16 minutes. After that, reduce the heat and bake the meat for about an hour. Ingredients for cooking:

  • Yogurt - 2 cups;
  • Leg of mutton - about 4 kg;
  • Lemon juice - 2-3 tablespoons;
  • Garlic - 3-4 cloves;
  • Root of ginger and lime peel (grated) - 1 spoonful;
  • Salt, paprika, coriander, ground cumin, dried mustard, ground cinnamon, cloves, ground cayenne pepper.

First, you need to wash your leg with a lamb, then dry it and cut the fat. Then mix the yogurt, lemon juice and rub this mixture with meat. Then put in the refrigerator for 8-10 hours. Then merge the marinade. Now crush the garlic, ginger, lime zest, salt, mustard, cloves in a mortar and add the remaining yogurt. Then add cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper and mix well. With this mixture, coat the leg and place on a grate, while covering with foil. Then bake the lamb leg in the oven at 195 degrees for one and a half hours. Then turn off the fire, carefully remove the foil and leave the meat for another half an hour in the oven. Serve a dish with potatoes and salad.

To prepare you need:

  • Potatoes - 550 g;
  • Bulgarian pepper - 2 pieces;
  • Lamb leg - about 750 g;
  • Tomatoes - 2-3 pieces;
  • Mustard, hops-suneli - 1 table spoon;
  • Pepper, salt.

Initially, the lamb leg should be rubbed with a mixture of salt, mustard and spices, then leave to marinate for half an hour. Then peel the potatoes, wash thoroughly and cut into four pieces, then pepper and salt. Bulgarian peppers should be cleaned and washed, then cut in half. Then take the tomatoes and cut them into four pieces each. When the lamb leg is missed, it should be put in a sleeve with vegetables, then tightly tied on both sides.
