Gymnastics for the eyes for children and adults.

To our great regret, the number of children with myopia (nearsightedness) has significantly increased in recent years, and continues to grow. This is due primarily to the large flow of information that is leaning on the child from the first days of his life, the deterioration of environmental properties of the environment, the deterioration of the human gene pool, inaccuracies in education and many other factors.

Myopia in children can be congenital or acquired. Congenital manifestation often at an early age. Acquired is manifested, as a rule, when the child has regular large visual loads. Often this is the time when a child goes to school or starts working actively with a computer (which in our time is a scourge for children's sight!).

For hygienic norms and physiological needs, active visual loads in the form of watching TV and playing games at the computer for children under 12 years are allowed from 30 minutes to one hour. But, unfortunately, not all parents understand the harm inflicted on the child by these factors, and some simply can not follow the actions of their children due to their employment. As a consequence, children often develop a spasm of accommodation from an early age , a decrease in vision, and then a myopia.

Now I want to tell you how to prevent such a sad outcome of events.

Most importantly, one must remember that it is easier to prevent than treat. Therefore, we will deal with the prevention of vision loss and myopia.

If the child is small, you need to limit the viewing of cartoons on TV and computer to 30 minutes a day. Occupy the child more active games, in which he can observe both near objects, and distant from him. Thanks to this, physiological gymnastics for the eyes will already take place.

Gymnastics for the eyes for young children (even breast) is also possible. It is necessary to show the child various objects in size and color at distances from the child's eyes. This is possible already from the age when the child begins to follow the object.

For older children, as well as for adults, there is a special gymnastics for the eyes, which helps to relax the muscles of the eyes while working at the computer and improve overall health. This gymnastics for the eyes with myopia can also be used to prevent the progression and treatment of the disease.

So, for starters, I propose to do a set of exercises aimed at relaxing the muscles of the neck and upper shoulder girdle, since we can often sit in a static and static position for a long time.

Every 45 minutes you need to get up from the chair, walk around the room, make circular motions with your head (10 clockwise and 10 counterclockwise), turn one hand, then the other by the opposite shoulder, while grasping the other arm with your elbow. Then stand on your toes, pull both hands up and stretch your whole body to the ceiling (this simple exercise relaxes all the back muscles and unloads the spine).

The next stage we come to the window where the gymnastics for the eyes are held.

Gymnastics for the eyes.

- simple movements of the eyeballs (GY) to the right and left alternately

- the same movements only up and down

- movements of eyeballs in a circle (clockwise and counterclockwise)

- the oblique movements of the FG first to the upper-lateral angle, then to the lower-lateral angle of the opposite side and vice versa

- Close your eyes tightly and then relax your muscles several times.

- look at a closely located object, for example, on a window frame, and then into the distance to infinity also several times

- take a pencil in your hand and, gradually bringing it closer to the nose, reduce your eyes to the object, then relax

- at the end of the gym just blink often
