Gutter mounting. Markup. Installation. Profile for drains

In the assembled and fixed form, the drainage system seems simple and does not require special effort during installation. However, the slightest deviation of the structure or the missing fastener element makes the installation not just useless, but also detrimental to the house. Fortunately, modern manufacturers develop convenient in installation and reliable sets of such systems, thanks to which the installation of gutters and associated elements is simplified. But only attentiveness and accuracy during the installation, backed up by careful calculations, can provide a quality installation.

Gutter material

The traditional material from which drainage systems are made is the metal profile. He is able to meet all the requirements for such designs. This strength strength, and flexibility in installation, and durability. But there are drawbacks to this decision. When choosing a drainage profile, it is necessary to focus on steel that has been galvanized or treated with a polymer coating. No matter how reliable the gutter is, the corrosion damage will negate all efforts in the installation. Therefore, the protective layer in the case of a metal profile is mandatory.

Concerning plastic, the list of advantages is also considerable. They began to move owners of private houses because of the convenient installation and quiet operation of the material in the rain. With respect to strength and durability, plastic gutters are almost inferior to metal gutters. However, PVC has its drawbacks. The material expands under the influence of high temperature, therefore at the fixing points, rubber seals should be provided .

How is the fastening of the gutters?

Mainly for this task, special hooks-brackets are used. For example, fixing the gutter gutter with the help of such elements is carried out in several parts:

  • Fixation to the cornice overhang, which is directed along the roof slope;
  • To the truss structure or the edge element of the crate;
  • To the board base of the floor.

Before installation, you should calculate what will be the shoulder of the hook. In order not to miscalculate, it is recommended to purchase adjustable elements. With their help, it is possible to mount the drain on almost any ramp without deforming the metal. Also, pay attention to the shade and shape of the fastener - this will allow you to withstand the style of the facade.

Varieties of brackets for construction

In the structural sense, the separation of brackets for drainage systems is very important. The reliability and functionality of the structure depends on the correctness of this choice. So, the gutter mounting can be carried out by brackets of the following types:

  1. Frontal elements. Such fasteners are screwed to the windboards using screws. The bracket can be positioned at an angle or in an upright position - this depends on how the rafters were cut off.
  2. Bent flat brackets. Fixing is performed to the plank deck, to the rafter or crate. It is important that the mounting step is maintained, which is not always possible, for example, when fixing to the crate.
  3. Flat brackets for side mounting. With the help of this fastener, the gutter is attached to the roof from the side of the rafters.
  4. Universal bracket. Actually, the name speaks for itself - this kind of hardware allows you to fix the construction to the rafters, the elements of the crate, the flooring or to the windboard.

Layout of the installation

The chutes should be oriented in such a way that during the thaw they can withstand the masses of snow sliding down from the roof. The fixing points of the brackets should be two centimeters from the funnel and no more. In this section, the gutter will be connected to the pipe. The extreme element of the fasteners should be moved away from the edge of the roof by 15 cm. Before installing the gutter to the roof, it is necessary to mount the extensible brackets. They are stacked next to, then you need to draw a line with a slope of the gutter with the help of a marker. Each lock is bent in the place where the mark was left from the marker. After that, the installation is carried out according to the planned plan.

Calculation of slope

For gutters, the so-called curvature should also be envisaged. This is a slope with respect to downpipes, that is, in their direction. This calculation is based on the section of the trough and the length of the ramp. For one meter this deviation can be from 0.5 to 2 cm. For example, if the horizontal length of the ramp is 8 m, the difference in levels from one bracket to the other will be 4 cm. If the length of the ramp is more than 12 m, In some cases the fixing of the gutter is carried out with a bias in two directions. This configuration occurs when several pipes are provided on one side of the roof to drain water. A prerequisite for correct installation with a slope is the horizontal alignment for the eaves.

Mounting brackets

The brackets can be installed in increments of 0.4 to 0.7 m. For saving, many reduce this distance, but this solution is dangerous in terms of reliability. The fact is that without good support the gutters can bend and deform under the loads of snow. In this respect, plastic drains are stronger, although for them there is a maximum load limit. In the installation of brackets to the rafters the main thing is to maintain the levels with the optimal trough gutters. Mounting in the direction of the ramp is performed with decreasing each subsequent element relative to the previous one. The fastening parts, which are installed to the truss structure and crate, must first be bent under the appropriate shape in order to ensure the correct fit to the slope of the ramp.

Installation of pipe holders

To ensure the fixation of drain pipes to the wall of the building use special holders. The arrangement of such an element provides for a clamp and a screw, which will ensure the fixing of the drain to the wall of the house. The holder should be placed under all the sockets where the pipes are connected. If straight and long pipe lengths are used, the clamp should be installed every 2 m.

It is important to note that for wooden and brick walls it is necessary to use different models of holders. For example, for brick it is necessary to select products, including a screw with a plastic dowel. In this case, it is necessary to make a hole for the fastening element, through which the holder will be installed.

If you plan to install gutters to a wooden house, then it is desirable to fasten clamps using special rods or plates with screws. The wooden base is considered less reliable, therefore, it is necessary to provide either a buried insertion of the fasteners or an installation with a grip of a larger area. To increase the reliability it is also recommended to install auxiliary panels, which can later be used to mount holders with drain pipes.
