Floor Mount Holder

The smooth surface of the floor is a necessary condition for further laying of the floor covering, whether it is parquet, laminate, tile, etc. After all, the coating laid on the base with defects will undergo deformation or cracking over time, and the considerable funds invested in it will go to the wind. Only a perfectly flat floor can provide the best conditions for the long-term and efficient operation of any kind of flooring, as well as create an atmosphere of coziness and comfort in the room.

The modern market offers a wide selection of the latest materials to solve this problem, the most popular of which is the floor leveler. It can also be called "poured floors" or "self-leveling floors". Like all genius, its device is very simple.

The floor rake is a cement-based screed with the addition of sand and chemical components. It is intended for leveling the surface of the base for further laying of floor coverings. Such mixtures are produced in dry form and are prepared (diluted with water) directly on the construction site. "Self-leveling floors" perfectly copes with the leveling of the surface in the presence of changes of 5-80 mm, the mixture has the property to quickly harden (after 6 hours it is already possible to walk on the floor), so it is successfully used for the initial screed and final leveling of floors by means of a single application. Such characteristics of the rovings considerably simplify and accelerate the process of mounting the base.

The ready-made mortar is easily laid, as it has the ability to self-level, creating a perfectly smooth, smooth surface after complete drying, which does not require grinding. This allows you to significantly reduce labor costs during installation and contributes to the extension of the life of the coating.

All liquid floors are conditionally divided into two groups.

  1. A racer for the floor of the initial (coarse) leveling. It has larger fractions of the components, which makes it possible to make the initial layer of the screed quite thick.
  2. Finishing leveler for the floor. This mixture is intended for the final leveling of the floor and giving the surface its perfect smoothness.

There is another kind of self-leveling screed - leveler for the wooden floor. With its help, you can restore and level the surface of the floors of wood. It contains special fibers and components that improve the adhesion of the mixture with wood coatings.

For the effectiveness of the use of levelers during their laying, certain rules must be observed.

  1. The temperature in the room and the temperature of the base for laying the building mix should be from 10 to 25oC.
  2. It is necessary to exclude the possibility of drafts in the room where the work is being carried out.
  3. The substrate must be extremely durable and completely dry. It is strictly forbidden to apply a leveling device for the floor to a freshly laid cement mixture or concrete.

Self-leveling mixtures are used on cement-sand, concrete and other non-deformed cement bases, whose age exceeds 28 days.

As for the grounds, there are a number of rules that must be followed to work successfully, and thereafter there were no problems with the sex. It should have considerable strength, be dry, smooth and have a bearing capacity. Before applying the floor leveler, it is recommended to remove paint coatings, crumbling elements, bituminous, oil stains and other contaminants from the surface, which can adversely affect adhesion. For better bond strength, 1-2 primer coats should be applied to the surface of the substrate before starting work.
