More frequent cases of terrorist attacks in all parts of the world can not leave indifferent any person. The realization that trouble can happen to anyone, at any time, compels to understand all the transience and unpredictability of life. The situation is especially strained against the background of the escalating geopolitical situation in the world. Military conflicts, religious hatred, economic sanctions worry many, but too zealous avengers, fanatical people are capable of terrible deeds.

Moreover, in the history of the country there were different cases. First of all, these are explosions in the Moscow metro. And although recent years show that the security system works much more efficiently and the degree of tension is slightly reduced, one should not forget the tragedies of the past.

general information

The metropolitan underground highway for its long history has experienced many tragic events. Explosions in the Moscow metro, fires, accidents due to technical malfunctions, the human factor - all this resulted in hundreds of victims and thousands of victims. Incidents that qualify as terrorist acts did not happen so often. Fortunately, many terrorist attacks were prevented in advance. There are events that are sufficiently known to the broad masses of citizens, there are those that are still classified as "secret", and only special services have information about them.

If you believe the sources, then in Moscow there were 7 terrorist acts, which were aimed specifically at metro passengers. The suicide bombers did not choose this place in vain. Where else can you find so many people in such a small territory?

Terror acts here and now

Such tragedies are not a tribute to modernity. In the criminal code, the terrorist act was given a clear definition: this action or the threat of its commission by one person, a group of persons. Goals can be different, ranging from personal vengeance and ending with the compulsion of the authorities to take certain actions. For the first time in the criminal code, the concept of "terrorist act" appeared in 1996, but this does not mean that before that time they did not have to deal with them.

The first explosion in the subway, which is classified as a terrorist act, occurred back in 1974. But the reluctance of the Soviet authorities to disclose information, a real opportunity to keep everything secret, the closed nature of the matter until now, do not give light on the events of old.

Unfortunately, the latest story tells about more such bloody events, and this is another reason to think about how to protect yourself.

"Hello" from Yerevan

The largest incident that occurred in the Soviet era was a set of terrorist acts that occurred at one time, but in different places. These were explosions in the Moscow metro, in the grocery store and near the KGB building.

All these tragic events took place on January 8, 1977. New Year's holidays and celebrations associated with them, have not yet ended. People massively used public transport. Someone went to visit, someone - for shopping. And then, at half past five in the evening, there was an explosion. The bomb was laid not at the station, but in the car and worked between the stops of Izmaylovskaya and Pervomaiskaya. It was the explosion in the Moscow metro in 1977 that led to the death of seven people. Another 37 received injuries and injuries of varying severity.

The organizers were three citizens living in Yerevan: Hakob Stepanyan, Zaven Baghdasaryan and Stepan Zatikyan.

Why did it happen?

This question was asked not only by investigators, who were instructed to uncover a terrible affair in the shortest possible time, but also ordinary citizens. It was very difficult to get on the trail of criminals. At that time, there were no modern CCTV cameras, no Internet, no media, no other methods of fast and efficient data transmission.

The investigators had to work out several versions, which led them to Yerevan. Three residents of this city conducted anti-Soviet propaganda, were members of the nationalist movement, which prompted them to commit bloody terrorist attacks. By the way, they were also detained in Moscow, where they planned to implement new crimes. Only thanks to a combination of circumstances, operational work and professionalism of specialists, it was possible to prevent further explosions in the Moscow metro.

Is the Soviet court the most humane court in the world?

Punishment podelnikov waited cruel - execution. The execution of the verdict was appointed immediately after the trial. There are rumors that such a rush was the result of falsifications of the investigation team, and the terrorists themselves did not admit their guilt.

However, the evidence was undeniable, and on January 30, 1979, the killers were shot.

Terror acts of the 1990s

This period is "rich" in several incidents. The Chechen war gave birth to many avengers. The inhabitants of this country did not forgive the Russians for invading their territory, and the result was an increasing number of terrorist attacks. Explosions in the Moscow metro were in 1996. Then 4 people were mortally wounded, and 12 more went to hospitals. This incident also occurred on the stretch, but already between the stations "Tula" and "Nagatinskaya". The explosion was very powerful, but, fortunately, it did not rumble during rush hour, but late in the evening, when most of the passengers had already left the train.

In 1998 there was an explosion that did not lead to the death of people. Fortunately, only four people were injured. All of them were employees of the Moscow subway and survived.

Scary morning

The next attack was also not as successful as the organizers had hoped. It occurred on the evening of February 5, 2001. Then the bomb was laid directly at the metro station "Belorusskaya". A small charge was attached to the bench, which saved the lives of twenty passengers.

But three years later and one day (February 6, 2004), at a time when Muscovites and guests of the capital were getting to work, study, on business, a powerful explosion in the Moscow metro. February 2004 will forever be remembered as a terrible day. It was then that everyone realized that it was necessary to apply measures to ensure the safety of citizens at all levels.

Frozen youth

The young guy Anzor Izhayev, who was only 21 at the time of the terrorist act, blew himself up in the car when he moved between Avtozavodskaya and Paveletskaya stations. After killing himself, the man took 41 innocent victims to the next world, and 250 people were injured.

Explosions in the Moscow metro, on 06.02.2004, including, are organized and brought into action by different people. Unfortunately, the perpetrators are not always punished. Courts last very long. But in 2007 the Moscow City Court found Murat Shavayev, Tambia Khubiyev and Maxim Ponaryin responsible for the tragedy that had taken place. For what they received a life sentence.

Black Widow

Truly a terrible name given to women suicide bombers. By sacrificing themselves in the name of revenge for husbands, brothers, in the name of religion, they ruin dozens, hundreds of people, cause the grief of thousands of families. This is how another explosion took place in the Moscow metro. The year 2004 was overshadowed for the second time. Everything happened on August 31 in the lobby leading to the platform of the metro station "Rizhskaya". Then ten people died, but there could be much more victims. The suicide bomber stopped and shot down a police patrol from the planned plan. Frightened, she did not go deep into the room, brought the bomb into action in the nearest crowd of people.

The terrorists who organized the explosions that occurred in February of the same year were found guilty. Over time, cases were combined into one, and the court examined both incidents.

Holy Week

In 2010, Easter fell on April 4. The week preceding the Holy Feast of the Resurrection of Christ began with tragic events. These were explosions in the Moscow metro (2010, March 29).

On that ill-fated morning of Monday there were two. Both acts of terrorism were carried out by women. The suicide bombers intentionally stood in the door of the train wagons and blew up the bombs while the train was stopped. Explosions in the Moscow metro in 2010 claimed the lives of 36 people. Four died from serious wounds already in the hospital.

These terrible events occurred in two places and with a time difference of slightly less than an hour. First, it broke at the Lubyanka metro station. It happened at 7:56. The second blast occurred at 8:36, when the train was stationed at the Park Kultury station.

Despite the fact that the explosion in the Moscow metro on March 29, 2010 could not be predicted by the authorities, evacuation and assistance to the victims were made very quickly.

Consequences of Bloody Monday

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, by the evening it was possible to liquidate the consequences of the terrorist act and establish the work of the underground. The operation involved more than six hundred people. In addition, numerous patrols, detachments of special forces systematically combed the city, followed the order. Such a stormy activity was justified. Because of the many false statements that claimed that there would be new explosions in the Moscow metro and other public buildings and places of congestion, we had to work hard, check calls, and there were more than hundreds of them on that ill-fated day.

The terrorist act demonstrated that not all the gaps in the security system of public institutions and transport have been eliminated. Dmitry Medvedev (the president of the country at that time) instructed to develop and implement a clear leadership that would prevent such tragedies by cutting them in the bud. The deadline was 2014.

Nowadays

Judging how much the authorities succeeded in defeating terrorism throughout the country, in the capital and other cities in particular, is difficult. However, an incontrovertible fact is that after 2010 there were no explosions in the Moscow metro.

At the same time there were accidents, arising for various reasons. Among them - the strongest wear of the material and technical base, negligence of some employees of different ranks. The fate of people sometimes turns out to be in the hands of irresponsible personnel, and the result is human lives. That's exactly what happened in 2014, when the train derailed. Then 20 people died. This loud and resonant case still stirs the minds of people, and those responsible from among the highest ranks are still under investigation to this day.

Modern methods of combating terrorism suggest different approaches. This observation of passengers, inspection of their belongings, documents, clarification of the person in the case of the slightest doubt of law enforcement. The last innovation that they want to realize is the armament of guarding the subway by analogy with other countries. Someone will say that these are excessive measures, someone can agree, but it is necessary to protect people from such a disaster as the explosions in the Moscow metro. Photos, eyewitness accounts testify to that nightmare, which can fall to the lot of everyone. To prevent this from happening again, we should treat the work of the special services with understanding.
