Exercises for diction and voice

Due to the correct articulation of sounds and the ability to open your mouth, a clear pronunciation of words is widely provided. Diction, voice and speech are important components of any successful performance. If you do not open your mouth, it becomes muffled, quiet, sounds pass through your teeth. Diction is the distinct pronunciation of sounds with correct articulation with clear utterance of phrases and words. In order to learn to open your mouth wide and develop the mobility of the jaw muscles, special exercises for diction have been developed. You will learn about them from the article.

The development of diction is simply necessary to avoid incomprehensible mooing when speaking. And not corrected in time the shortcomings of pronunciation can remain for the rest of your life.

Exercises for voice

  1. Air inhale through your nose and count to three. Exhale it through the mouth. Repeat 5 minutes.

- Say in syllables:

  • Pp - np - npo - ppe - ppi - ppu
  • Бба - ббы - ббо - ббэ - ббибббу

- Say clearly the following combinations:

  • Птка - птки - птко - пткэ - птки - птку
  • Тпка - тпкы - тпко - тпкэ - тпки - тпку
  • Kpta - kpty - kpto - kpte - kpti-kptu

- Pronounce these words clearly and slowly:

  • Anna, Asya, Alisa, Albina, Algebra, Anya, address, astra, author, poppy, yar, yak, poison, berry, us, ball, start, hand, pit, alt.
  • Bok, guest, here, rain, mountain, dawn, bridge, house, cat, scrap, clod, bill, tears, salt, ice, aunt, Lenya.
  • Morning, mind, coal, bonds, tooth, prisoner, bow, club, noise, work, write, call, iron, south, union, yule, holy fool, youth, humor, in bad weather, on Wednesday.

- Pronounce the phrases with different intonations. Imagine that you are talking with a friend who doubts your every word. You need to calmly and convincingly defend your case.

- Pronounce tongue twisters that will come to your mind first soundlessly, then in a whisper, and at the end - distinctly and loudly. After that, say them, chuckling, with humor, then - with the intention of reporting something terrible, and at the very end - at a very fast pace.
