Dude ... Who is this?
Earlier, probably, even in the days of my childhood, people often used this word. And now, you look, they start to think. "Dude ... Who is this, actually?" - they are puzzled. Of course, because now other definitions are popular, including jargon, denoting people, constantly concerned about their appearance and the fact that "there is absolutely nothing to wear." However, the term is still not dead, and let's think about its meaning.
It is interesting that not every person who loves to dress for show causes such a negative reaction. For example, "dandy", "stilig" or "dandy" - these words carry some positive characteristics. The last category of mods was, as it were, the first principle for describing such a type as a dude. "Who is this?", They asked about the dandy. But this group of people still had a taste, a sense of proportion and a notion of decent manners. In dudes, all this is practically absent. It can be said that at the end of the twentieth century this word was mainly used by people who tried to show their superiority to others ("the gray crowd") with the help of rich, fashionable, but often vulgar clothes and expensive things and exclusive accessories.
Although recently in modern culture there are attempts to give this word a certain charm. For example, the well-known Underwood film "Urban dudes" tells how the show off heroes passed the exam for real men. A famous program of the First Channel with the same name and its leading try to show the mass public a different type of series than soap operas and miserable criminal showdowns.
